I thought Caleb hadn't signed a pro contract? or did that change?
24  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window on: May 11, 2021, 12:52:15 pm
if it wasn't him he has a twin brother

To be honest, I thought that when he was here. Unfortunately we saw the twin more than the footballer.

What was the story KC said about L Jones last summer?

I recall it came out in December time about how it took a while for KC to trust him again. Hence having to train for a month or so without being offered terms.

Something to do with him saying he was signing but never did??

This? https://www.northamptonchron.co.uk/sport/football/curle-lost-trust-jones-after-he-pulled-out-play-offs-town-boss-praises-defender-working-hard-win-it-back-3128916

I don't really feel Jones did much wrong. The season ended in a weird way. Luton, I think released players before the restart of the championship. He had an offer on the table and wanted to go for it.

I think having an U23s is the way to go, maybe this is something Jon wants to see happen(ing) before agreeing to the job?
27  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Simon Tracey & Dan Watson on: May 06, 2021, 15:51:16 pm
Not having an U23s is a massive problem. Clubs with similar budgets - or in some cases less - do have U23s. Comes down to how money is spent.

Out of interest could you give us some examples? I've had a look and other than the U23s Premier league I'm not finding anything useful.. I think Coventry do, but then i'd not put them as a similar size club.
Cheers

You are indeed correct Jim, but I don’t count this season as it’s been “virtual”.
I have been a season ticket holder since the raffle tickets for the hotel end, whilst I support the club and have poured god knows how much into it over the years the under funding of basically everything coupled with the broken promises is enough for me.
I’m not saying I won’t attend, the thought of Barrow at home on a Tuesday isn’t that appealing TBH.

Slightly more appealing than Barrow away on a Tuesday

Is this a must-win game?

I'm not sure when we last won a must win game. So no, its not a must win game.  Wink

Its in the Chron, https://www.northamptonchron.co.uk/sport/football/brady-confident-cobblers-will-get-it-right-against-oxford-after-crewe-blip-3175327
I just hope its not just words and things do drastically improve. I hate the term must win but it really is isn't it ?

Optimistic...claret tinted specs.....something like that! I hope you are right. However you have predicted we are going to win 5 of our last 6 home games when we have won 5 of the 17 played so far at home. We are also the lowest scorers at home in the division with only 14 goals from those 17 games.

6 of those goals in the last 2. The home form has been poor this season. I'm not feeling as optimistic today.  Undecided
34  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: New Manager on: March 15, 2021, 13:50:40 pm
My point was and still is that Air-Dan’s comment was totally one sided. The play off games alone was worth 100+ poor games. Most supporters seemed happy at the time to forgive and forget? Of course there was more than ten games particularly those won!

Not so sure about the forgive and forget. Personally, I was more than happy with the play offs. I was hopeful that the performances would continue. But, let's be honest, the bad was seriously outweighing the good.
35  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: New Manager on: March 15, 2021, 12:32:29 pm
Not all of the games ; I can recall at least 10 games where the style was impressive. Why do you omit this factor in your argument?

Quite possibly because it wasn't worth it. 10 out of 100+ games doesn't really disprove the post.
36  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Jon Brady on: March 04, 2021, 13:04:24 pm
YAY!!!!!   Grin Grin Grin

Careful now, some may start to question why you are happy! Grin

https://www.northamptonchron.co.uk/sport/football/breaking-brady-to-stay-in-charge-of-cobblers-until-the-end-of-the-season-3154398 Well this will make people happy and others undecided and some unhappy..
38  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: New Manager on: February 11, 2021, 12:54:58 pm
Not sure we'd ever tempt him here but Paul Cook is the best name mentioned on this thread so far, along with Klopp  Tongue
We'd certainly see an attempt at a different style of football.
If you are reading KT dust the cheque book off!

Agree 100% I just think there is more chance of it being Sue Cook.
39  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: CURLE OUT. on: February 10, 2021, 15:38:50 pm
To be honest, I'm actually quite excited by the prospect of those three having a go. I think if I were KT I'd be inclined to hold off recruitment and give them three or four games to see how they do before looking for anyone else. I don't think there's anything to lose at this point.
Completely agree with this!
40  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: CURLE OUT. on: February 10, 2021, 15:36:52 pm
I really wanted him to do well. This is the right decision though.
