Apart from Charlton I think Derby are the only other remaining team that will sell out the 1473 allocation and they are likely to do that even if the game is on Tuesday night. Blackpool won't bring that many for a night game and probably won't sell out the south stand. Port Vale ought to bring a reasonable number on Easter Monday but their home crowds have dropped off a lot recently. It is a long trip from Carlisle so they won't sell out and Exeter is the penultimate game and although they usually travel well if they are safe from relegation it will be a dead rubber.

Going back to the Bolton thread they said all of their allocation of 1473 had been sold and yet the only brought 1370. So it appears that 1473 is our total allocation for away supporters and nobody has yet brought that many, the highest are Oxford 1467, Portsmouth 1454 and Peterborough 1451 which are 6 to 22 short of the full allocation. Inevitably there will be a few tickets sold to people who at the last minute are unable to attend so I think it is reasonable to assume that all 3 teams sold their total allocation.

Having gone 16 league games without a win Charlton finally ended their run with an impressive win at Derby last night. Their fans were quite pleased when we won there a few weeks ago as it spelt the end for manager Appleton but his replacement Nathan Jones seems to be getting a tune out of them as in their last 3 games they have played the top 3 teams and not lost to any of them. Prior to last night they had drawn at home to Portsmouth 0-0 and away at Bolton 3-3.

I used to buy faggots from the counter in Tesco some while ago which were good, then they stopped selling them but reintroduced them after a while but they were awful, very rubbery. Now I get them from the butcher in Wootton who makes his own and no complaints so far.

I didn't see this fluidity at Oxford, in fact we were dire in the first half and fortunate to be level at half time due to our only decent attacking move. Again in the second half we had not had a shot on target until Hoskins laid on our equaliser. I guess we have been more fluid in some games and less so in others.

If we send all of our loan signings back we don't have a goalkeeper and Appere would be our only fit striker and he is nursing a thigh injury. The only fit front 3 would be Pinnock, Appere and Hoskins but apart from that I can't see a problem.

In the end a comfortable win but we started slowly for the first 15-20 minutes and could have gone a goal behind after Moulden misjudged his excursion out of goal and was beaten to the ball which was fortunately headed wide. A lucky deflection gave us the lead which we doubled when they presented Pinnock with the ball who produced a fine finish. Having established a 2 goal lead I had no doubt the 3 points were ours and we should have made the win more emphatic with our second half chances, what a pity McWilliams shot didn't go in instead of hitting the woodwork.
We defended their long ball game pretty well to gain only our 7th clean sheet of the season and unsurprisingly 2 of those have come against a very poor Burton side. Once again Leonard stood out but Hondermarck deserves a mention and now he is getting a regular starting place he seems to improve with every game.

Burton were very poor when they came here but recent form shows they must have improved. We need a better performance than Tuesday at Oxford and if we get it I don't think Burton will be good enough to beat us. Anyway must start getting ready to leave.

Only a 8 game history at Burton with 3 wins for each team and 2 draws. Burton's form has improved since they changed manager and they have taken 10 points from their last 5 games and 17 from their last 10. In 15 home games they have won 6, drawn 4 and lost 5 scoring 16 and conceding 15, only 3 teams have scored fewer home goals but only 2 have conceded less and overall they have conceded 9 goals fewer than us. In the 15 home games they have scored more than once only 4 times and have failed to score 5 times, but they have conceded more than once only 3 times and have kept 4 clean sheets.
Burton are among the divisions lowest scorers and their top scorers are Beryly Lubala our former loanee with 5 and he moved to Wycombe in the transfer window, Mark Helm has 4 as does another of our former loanees Joe Powell and we will need to watch his free kicks close to goal.
Referee is Tom Reeves who in 26 games has issued 83 yellows, 4 reds and awarded 8 penalties, we previously had him in September for our 0-1 home loss to Wycombe.
As we know their pitch is in poor condition and with the rain this week is likely to cut up which could turn the game into a battle which may dictate our team selection and they are also known as a physical side. Judging by their home record you could expect a low scoring game but we are currently finding the net even when not at our best like Tuesday night. I would like to see McWilliams start, maybe instead of Fox, as this could be his type of game and Sowerby should also return to the squad. Hoskins may have to make do with a place on the bench unless JB thinks we need freshening up in atttack. Stop giving away the poor goals we have been conceding recently and we could bring back the 3 points.

Strange that there are no terrace tickets available if they have only released half of the capacity, you would think Burton would be glad of the revenue as they usually get gates of just over 3000. If we make as much noise as we did at Oxford it could make it seem like a home game.

Can't tell how many are sold for standing behind the goal but only 28 seats remaining of the near 400 allocation, looking forward to it assuming they don't have a lot of rain this week otherwise it will go the same way as recent games there as the pitch is in very poor condition and easily waterlogged.

Just watched the ifollow highlights and was amazed that at the final whistle the commentator thought it was a really good game. We were well below par and much of the first half was unforgettable. We saw the first goal from the other side of the pitch to the ifollow coverage and we thought the shot took a slight deflection off Brough but it was still a very poor goal to concede, credit to Goodwin for his header for their second goal. Fine cross from Leonard (not Pinnock as ifollow said) for Hondermarcks downward header for our first and Hoskins for picking out Springett who duly converted the second. Against a better team than Oxford we would have been beaten and it shows how poor the division is this season when a mediocre team like Oxford are in the play offs, for much of the second half I was expecting the game to finish 1-1 as Oxford were often resorting to ineffectual long range shots as we got bodies behind the ball. Credit to the boys from again twice coming from behind to get a point but 27 goals conceded in the last 11 away games is far too many and it is a little surprising we have taken points from 5 of those games. Breakspeare kept up his average of 5 yellow cards per game and several of those would have been let go by other referees.
