121  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Mitchell on: May 01, 2021, 21:49:45 pm
Not having a proper number 1 was an absolutely ridiculous decision...

Instead we had two bang avarage L2 keepers at best battling it out...

Never known a keeper as injury prone as Arnold & some of the goals Mitchell has conceded have been utterly laughable for an alledged professional keeper...

Thankfully, we shouldn't see either again as I would hope the youth keeper (along with several other youth players) are selected v Sunderland...will be a great experience for them & I don't see the point playing any loan players either as they won't be here next season.
122  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Jon Brady on: May 01, 2021, 21:38:54 pm
Brady knows exactly what's needed & I'm glad he's not committing to anything until he's discussed the future identify of the club with KT...however if KT does not agree with Brady then i honestly expect someone like Mark Cooper to be appointed!
123  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Simon Tracey & Dan Watson on: May 01, 2021, 21:27:41 pm
Signing an already injured Joe Nuttall is unforgivable & he easily becomes the worst most costly loan signing we've ever made. I guarantee he's on more money than Oliver is at Gillingham...hence why Blackpool wouldn't cancel his loan!

Also, all our alledged first choice targets were signed in January!

Absolute s***ter of a season!
124  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Simon Tracey & Dan Watson on: May 01, 2021, 19:48:22 pm
I donít get it? If a new manager wants to bring in his own people we can let the current staff go and pay them off, Iím not sure how having something in place where when the manager goes they go to helps? they would still have to be paid off. Am I missing something?.

No, many clubs put clauses in, to prevent pay offs if manager failings...I know Peterborough do & they ain't doing too bad!
125  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Simon Tracey & Dan Watson on: May 01, 2021, 19:10:28 pm
So rather than aligning their contracts to the then managers one (ie if he leaves/gets sacked so do they), we're stuck with head of recruitment Simon Tracey & goalkeeping coach Dan Watson for another season!

https://www.ntfc.co.uk/news/20202/july/back_room_staff/

Surely, whoever becomes the permanent manager, will want to bring his own backroom team in...

The club really don't do themselves any favours  Roll Eyes
126  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Heís one of own ... on: April 28, 2021, 08:17:40 am
Why do we hardly ever have options in the clubs favour, L Jones a prime example...

He was without a club, we give him a short term deal, surely if he does well we should have made sure we get first dibs...Peterborough do it successfully all the bloomin time!

Still, least we've got BAS & Smith for another season  Roll Eyes
127  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Jon Brady on: April 27, 2021, 23:12:54 pm
i think JB knows that in order to have a chance , you need a fighting budget .
The better players need to be kept and if thatís going to happen , bargain basement salaries canít be paid .
The recruitment structure has to change and training facilities need addressing .
If you donít get these conditions - clear off and do something worthwhile when you are a well established coach and run a business of your own .
Be in control - donít let them control you .

This confirms your hunch...whether KT agrees is another matter!

128  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Season ticket holders on: April 26, 2021, 13:02:40 pm
As the club probably won't be promoting this, plus there will be a social media blackout, from this Friday til the following Monday...

Deadline for season ticket credit / refunds is this Friday 30th April

KT said in his last interview that hardly anyone has requested either of these options btw...
129  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Relegation Watch 20/21 on: April 24, 2021, 18:19:21 pm
Today just prolongs the agony...

Wigan home to the woeful Swindon last game of the season so we ain't staying up...

Let's get planning for next season now...
130  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: KELVIN THOMAS on: April 22, 2021, 19:29:39 pm
Listen back here...

https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p06hf00j

He completely dodged the "elite" supporter question regarding the season ticket donation option  Roll Eyes

He also said vast majority of supporters have not requested the credit / refund option...Think that might change slightly by the April 30th deadline!
131  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: KELVIN THOMAS on: April 22, 2021, 14:26:33 pm
KT finally available for comment...

He's on The Cobblers Show on BBC Radio Northampton at 6pm tonight and is taking questions, so get asking people!

Tweet all your questions to @BBCNorthampton before 6pm
132  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Home against the Tractor Boys 20.04.21 on: April 20, 2021, 23:39:31 pm
Great team performance & at least we're showing plenty of fight (unlike Bristol Rovers)  Wink

Just a shame KC was given the whole January window before being sacked...

The one player Brady has bought in, Alex Jones, looks class...

133  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Home against the Tractor Boys 20.04.21 on: April 20, 2021, 17:16:21 pm
Morgan Roberts signed a 3 year contract which expires this Summer, so I'd like to see him in place of Mills who's been woeful, but as he hasn't even been on the bench under Brady so it ain't gonna happen...same goes for Ethan Johnstone.

Give them a proper game ffs rather than just release them in the Summer.

Rather see these kids blooded rather than loan players who couldn't give a toss about us...

If Chucks & Jones don't start tonight, I give up!
134  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: So, What Happens Next? on: April 19, 2021, 22:19:15 pm
Watson and Lloyd jones will both leave - probably to stay in division 1.
Sheehan will retire .
Ashley - Seal will be told to leave and so will Smith and Korboa .
Marshall will be released .
Both keepers will drop out of football unless Arnold is kept as 2nd choice .
Harriman , horsfall , mills , mcwilliams , sowerby , hoskins , rose will
all be kept .
They will try and offload Bolger .
Edmondson will end up non league .

Bolger thankfully only signed an initial one year contract so he'll be released...won't have played enough games to get an automatic extension (if that option was even included)

https://www.ntfc.co.uk/news/20202/august/cian_bolger/

Korboa also initially only signed for one year too...

https://www.ntfc.co.uk/news/20202/september/ricky_korboa/

No way should we keep Arnold, absolutely bang average & never known a keeper so injury prone...plenty of competent keepers out there...just need to make sure we bring in a proper number one, rather than two extremely average ones.
135  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: So, What Happens Next? on: April 18, 2021, 18:05:08 pm
KT has been back in the country for a good few weeks now but we haven't heard anything from him...

I'm not expecting anything from him until just prior to the April 30th deadline for season ticket refunds...

Then we can expect the standard Gareth Wiltshire video where KT explains how gutted he is that we've been relegated, but he believes we'll have a decent budget for league two, and fans can look forward to another exciting season...In the hope that fans will just accept & blindly donate/renew...

Think he'll be shocked by the amount of refunds that are requested & number of season tickets that are not renewed...

136  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Season ticket holders on: April 16, 2021, 11:26:36 am
Interesting piece from Accy regarding 2021/22 season tickets...

https://www.accringtonstanley.co.uk/news/2021/april/season-ticket-update/

1   When will fans be allowed back into the stadiums?

We are meeting regularly with EFL with the return of fans top of the agenda. The governmentís roadmap will shape as to when fans will be able to return with the governmentís Ďall restrictions liftedí date of June 21st being the catalyst as to when the stadium gates will reopen.

The EFL are currently looking at four different scenarios of 100%, 50%, 25% and 0% capacity being allowed back into stadiums. The Department of Public Health (DPH) will also have a say as to how many will be allowed back dependant on the local infection rates at that time.

2    When will Season Tickets go on sale?

We are holding off release dates for Season 2021/22 season tickets until we have EFL and DPH confirmation of when and how many supporters will be allowed back into the Wham Stadium. We donít want to be in the same position as we were in late September 2020 when the government stated we were allowed 1,000 season ticket holders into a stadium test event only to put the Covid restrictions back in place a few days prior to the event taking place.
137  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: What, no Peter bog horror thread yet. on: April 16, 2021, 08:17:39 am
Expect significant change in the line up tonight i would say .

Due to injuries or tactical?

Can't imagine Mitchell being dropped (even though I don't rate him) as we've no proper fit back up...

Can't see us blooding a young keeper in this, as it could potentially damage him for life, facing their potent strike force!
138  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: What, no Peter bog horror thread yet. on: April 15, 2021, 22:24:34 pm
Honestly think they will batter us...they have assembled a class squad even after losing Toney (who they'll get another bunch of cash for as he's rumoured to be off to either Leeds or West Ham in the Summer for 35 million!!!)

Our squad is simply nowhere near good enough for L1 & I can see a couple of red cards for us due to getting frustrated with how easy they will toy with us.

Will be the most embarrassing derby defeat for many a year unfortunately...

I just hope that some sort of planning behind the scenes is happening regarding next season, rather than the powers that be, acting surprised when the inevitable deserved relegation is finally confirmed.

Still, unlike Posh, at least we'll have some elite supporters next season  Grin

139  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Injury Updates.... on: April 14, 2021, 23:59:35 pm
No loans can be recalled so forget about those...

We're fvcked anyway so just play that Ethan Johnstone lad & Chuks up top...

We've an acclaimed youth set up allegedly so bout time we used em eh?

Oh, where the fvck is Joe Nuttall in our hour of need? Still paying him...is he STILL injured?
140  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Who's the best dead pop star you've ever seen? RIP. on: April 10, 2021, 22:44:09 pm
Keith Flint (The Prodigy)
Chester Bennington (Linkin Park)
Jon Bunch (Sense Field)
Scott Weiland (Stone Temple Pilots/Velvet Revolver)
Chris Cornell (Audioslave)
Michael Jackson

Was gonna go see Prince play Koko but regrettably worked instead...

Had tickets to see Nirvana for my 21st but Kurt decided to shoot himself before I got to see em live!
