61  The Hotel End / Other Football & Sport / Re: Maidstone Utd on: January 27, 2024, 19:34:09 pm
Could have been us, Maidstone beat Barrow in the 2nd round

No it couldn't, Barrow soundly beat us in the first round, so deserved to go through...

Maidstone also beat Stevenage in round 3, so they would have done another number on us too!

Hope they get one of the really big boys in round 5 as they thoroughly deserve to.
62  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: January 2024 Transfer Window on: January 27, 2024, 13:09:15 pm
Dyche has joined Woking on loan for the rest of the season...
63  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: January 2024 Transfer Window on: January 26, 2024, 21:52:36 pm
I'm pretty sure I'm not pissy, even though I'm not certain what that means. I'm more frustrated, I have seen this so many times before and I know the likely outcome.

Just think about it, if we can't afford to better ourselves now when in such a good position, why on earth would things be different next season? I'm not asking for the world, just a couple of incoming with 18 month contracts, players Brady knows will be needed for next season.

Because January is notorious for clubs of contracted players & the said players asking for ridiculous fees/wages...

ntfclad has already confirmed that with the two potential signings from Fleetwood...

We are in a fantastic position with only 4 more wins needed to pretty much guarantee L1 football next season...

That is the goal & it's not being negative, it's being realistic!

If we can earmark suitable Leonard & Bowie replacements between now & the summer plus tie down McWilliams & Sherring (doubtful I know) in the meantime, I think most of us will be happy
64  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: January 26, 2024, 14:04:41 pm
I listened to it, KT is a master of telling people what they want to hear without actually saying anything.
I am massively disappointed he is keeping the balcony in the middle of the stand it looks terrible and could add another 3-400 seats if we took it out and used the top of the seats to house our disabled fans, they would get the same view as people in the boxes.

Yes, we'd all love it to look like it should have done, before 10 million plus went missing!  Roll Eyes

It's a case of polishing a turd, of which none of the blame can't be thrown at the current owners, as the carcass of a structure was there when they bought the club....knock it down & re-build it....with what or shall they just add more debt to the existing debt?

Most of us just want it bl00dy finished...without stilts!!!  Grin

I see that Tom Reed fella & the other usual suspects are on X belittling KT again after his radio appearance last night  Roll Eyes

If he / they'd have bothered to listen to the whole KT interview, it pretty much give timescales & when further information will be forthcoming in the public domain...they just can't resist little digs...there was only one little digger but that's now gone off site etc...what a pathetic existence!

Anyone but the current owners in their eyes...

Interview is here for those that missed it...

66  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Supporters Advisory Board on: January 25, 2024, 23:09:06 pm
I keep seeing all these request for the Trust to publish the letter which, it seems, they are reluctant to do.     So why not ask NTFC to publish it ?  Why don't they publish it?

I've asked this question quite a few times, is the reason that nether of them have published it because they would be the ones responsible for any defamatory contents?

As KT said this evening, the letter was addressed to the trust board (which they've not even responded to since it was sent last July!) and the club clearly stated within the letter (which I read about 10 times when it was initially leaked) that the NTFC board were happy for the trust board to share the letter with all its members

It's not down to the club to officially publish it Roll Eyes
67  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: January 25, 2024, 23:01:16 pm
To be honest I don’t think the letter is out there, just the text from it. I think those involved are probably revelling in the power and control demonstrated by having it removed, so we should probably congratulate them on their success really? They don’t have many.

Oh it's definitely out there, just need someone brave enough to leak it again...

It needs to be seen as it really does show the true colours of the current trust board...

Perhaps they'll be a new user register on here or Facebook that'll do exactly that over the coming days!?
68  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Supporters Advisory Board on: January 25, 2024, 22:49:08 pm
How about if every member of the Trust Emails them, and asks to see a copy? The club did state that they were happy for the contents to be revealed to the membership. Dont be surprised if the requests are ignored though.  (we are busy, and have jobs to do), doesnt stop them sending out generic Trust updates though.

I emailed them asking for a full copy after it was initially leaked on here... explained the club board clearly stated in the letter the trust had their permission to email it to ALL their members....absolutely no response whatsoever!
69  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Supporters Advisory Board on: January 25, 2024, 20:01:04 pm
I imagine the trust will continue as it is, most of the members are life members and by their actions/inactions seem content with the cul-de-sac the board has parked itself in. There was an opportunity to make real changes last year but nothing really happened. And I doubt anything ever will change

I've been a life member since launch but have no intentions of joining the current league of gentlemen board...

Change did happen last year with new board members whom unfortunately have all since resigned...that tells you those fellas are not for turning!

Hope someone uploads that 7 page letter again for those who missed it...I unfortunately didn't capture it before it was taken down by the mods...was a good read though  Wink

70  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: January 2024 Transfer Window on: January 25, 2024, 18:41:51 pm
No one in due to already having 5 loans...makes sense

Permanent signings in January window are massively inflated anyway & out of contract players take several weeks to get match fit anyway...

Keeping Leonard & Bowie are like having new signings anyway....

We've got injured players coming back & I'm sure young Reuben Wyatt could step up if needed...

Perhaps a couple of fringe players outgoing if someone comes in or we cancel their contract (Hylton)

We've got 40 points so another 4 wins should see us safe so budget better spent in the summer.
71  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Supporters Advisory Board on: January 25, 2024, 18:33:53 pm
The current trust board are NEVER going to resign so that that's then...the trust is finished!

The late great Brian Lomax would be appalled at the way some of the current trust board members have conducted themselves over the last few years.
72  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: January 25, 2024, 18:22:36 pm
That was a really good listen...I'm sure you can listen on catch up on the BBC sounds app if you missed it.

Unsurprisingly, KT reiterated the club has absolutely no intentions of working with the trust, whilst the current board are at the helm...

He mentioned the infamous 7 page letter the club sent to the trust last July & could not believe it still hasn't be sent to it's members whom they are supposed to represent...also confirmed the club hasn't received any response to the said letter.

Don't see any reason why the letter can't now be re-published here for those that missed it, as the trust have absolutely no intention of ever sending it to their members & KT said the club have lots of evidence against the trust board, should it ever be needed...

So, re upload mods or anyone else & get the popcorn out!  Grin

74  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: January 2024 Transfer Window on: January 25, 2024, 13:47:26 pm
Has indeed signed - Anyone know if we were in for him?

Back in the L2 season where it ended in tears, Brady was asked on the Cobblers Show who his current favorite L2 player was & he said Jack Diamond (he was on loan to Harrogate from Sunderland) so I guess he would have been interested...

Even so, I don't think we could have competed with Carlisle financially now anyway, they are absolutely splashing the cash under their new owners.

Perhaps, ntfclad can give us an insight (and update re ins & outs!)  Wink

Also, i see he's still contracted to Sunderland, so has joined Carlisle on loan til the end of the season...

It will take him some time to get match fit, & we've already got 5 loans anyway, which i believe is the maximum you can have in a matchday squad.
75  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: January 25, 2024, 09:15:03 am
Someone needs to tell that James Corrigan fella, the East Stand completion ain't ever gonna happen, under the ownership of KT/DB...

Well, that's what The Trust have been telling us isn't it?

Absolutely fantastic result & decent team performance especially first half...

Brady has got the whole squad singing from the same hymn sheet...

No coincidence Burge was back to his best now he's got proper competition...

The subs never weakened us at all & thought Hondermarck looked in very good shape...

Thought Manny did well & although he's ungainly, he's a solid strong decent defender...

Happy for Louie to get the winner...

Shrewsbury won't be a pushover with Paul Hurst at the helm by then, so let's be at it & get another 3 points nearer that magical 52  Grin
79  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: New Managers contract on: January 19, 2024, 13:59:21 pm
Good stuff, it is well deserved.

The early renogotiation perhaps suggests that another club came in for JB and KT had to pull the trigger early to fend them off...

KT stated the club had an option to discuss/extend at the end of this season, but as he's been doing such a great job, they brought the discussions forward...

What with the diggers on-site it's been a pretty good Friday  Grin
