Might be wrong but I thought we only had 2 loan players starting, Huws signed because of an injury crises and Roofe playing because Demontagnac (our own player) isn't very good.
My mistake Nicholls too, for me our current best player this season

YOU WILL NOT PROGRESS WITH A TEAM OF LOANEES.

Don't be ridiculous. Its just our paper thin squad is being severely shown up for lack of quality. For any team in league two who has lost the kind of players we have would struggle also. But adb out is not the solution.
Same team able to beat Exeter, not a question of quality or squad strength for me but player attitude and mental toughness.

I'm not certain to be honest. Platt struggled today (first game back so a little accepted. But I havnt really seen him and bayo link that well so far. Have to mention Hackett aswell who's doing a great job in an unfamiliar role!
I don't think you are ever going to get great link up play with a Platt/Bayo partnership, it won't be pretty more a case of being effective rather than fluid. I can see a lot of balls going astray but they will be a nightmare for central defenders who I can see making numerous mistakes because of it. Apart from Huws cross for Langmead I thought the crossing against Exeter was very poor with Demontagnac being the most culpable, while having a left footer on the right brings some benefits when you've got two big lumps like Platt and Bayo I would rather see crosses coming in, so when East is fit I would like to see Hackett who's done a great job at full back return to the wing.

I like the thought of a midfield four of Tozer, Huws, Roofe and Harding. Having said that, Ish is improving with each game. Great to have options.
Does show the options we have as with everybody fit I'd go Hackett, Huws, Guttridge, Nicholls, but you could probably make a case for any combination. As for Demontagnac he flatters to deceive for me, at times he can look quite good but far too often he will make the wrong decision or misplace a pass or cross.

DC will be acutely aware of our midfield problems and I doubt very much he is blocking any deal. October is a defining month. DC will know that wins are needed this month to keep us in touch with the leaders. That is not going to happen with the current midfield options. I am more concerned about a midfielder for the league than for the comparatively unimportant JPT.
According to the chron if the deal isn't done done for tonight it will be for Saturday. Apparently it is complicated with a number of parties involved???.

What's the deal with Platt? Is he fit? He's been an unused sub in the last two games now when we have been chasing games but instead used other attacking options from the bench. Will be interesting to see if AB starts the Platt/Bayo partnership anytime soon as he only seems to talk about it when one of them is injured!.

These injuries may well serve to be a positive in that they temper the growing and unrealistic hope that we'd be getting promotion this year.
Don't understand the logic there at all. Injuries weakening the team and causing it to drop down the league the league are a good thing because they quell any thought of promotion. We better not bring in any new players then in case we start winning again, climbing the table and bringing back talk of going up. This is a poor league with little between most of the teams. Like AB I wasn't that impressed by Gillingham, I don't think they have a great squad full of really good players, but they the confidence that winning games gives you which enabled them to win a close encounter against our injury weakened team. I see no reason why with a bit of luck (including not having injuries to key players) that we can't be in and around the top seven, I'm not saying it will happened and in such a tight league if things went against us we could just as easily drop down the table.

We seem to play better attacking when Platt is on the pitch although I thought Bayo was amongst our better players last night.
The stats don't back that up at all. The Platt/Nicholls partnership was awful, Platt no league goals, Nicholls no league goals without Bayo on the pitch. I can't be bothered to work it out again but the goals per game ratio with Bayo on the pitch is massively and significantly higher than with Platt on the pitch. Personally I'd like to see the Platt/Bayo partnership with Nicholls replacing the highly unimpressive demontagnac wide, especially now with Harding and Guttridge injured and a midfield that can't string 2 passes together it gives us a long option.

I've said it before but you need quality frontmen to get you up and we haven't invested in one. Freebies will get you stable.
We have last seasons joint league top scorer so I don't understand your logic. We turned down a good transfer bid for him too which also shows his worth. Just because we didn't pay a fee for him is irrelevant.

Midfield was shocking when Guttridge went off, three wingers and a central defender. Don't understand why we signed another winger in Roofe when we need a real central midfield player.

Not sure if we ever prosper from young centre midfielders coming in on loan but we will see.
According to the WBA website he is a winger not a central midfielder which seems a bit weird with what we currently have available.
