1  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: May 29, 2022, 11:20:20 am
WellÖ. Perhaps I should apologise for misinterpreting this..

ďI donít want reminding how that all panned out despite many editions of the Gareth and David show and Iíd just be more comfortable with a different interviewer nowadays who doesnít remind me of the bad old days where interviews were posted even as it was clear to many fans that things were very very wrong behind the scenesĒ.

I mean there's absolutely no suggestion in that paragraph that Gareth was complicit or had prior knowledge of the ultimate outcome, is there 🙄🙄 I meanÖ Where do I get these things from 😂😂
Apology accepted.

Shame though, eh?
That would depend on who was buying.
Imo the club at the moment is in a period of stagnation that most fans are happy withÖ.
A new owner could be much better with more finances or much worse than whatís in placeÖ.
Having read stuff about being unable to compete with bigger non league clubs financially it does beg the question how hard the club are trying (if they are) to attract extra investment into the club.
That would be interesting to knowÖ

Perhaps you should interview him. Then you would get your wish for somebody who has absolutely no connection with the club whatsoever doing it.

There is absolutely no correlation between the Cardozo fiasco and what has happened under this tenure. Suggesting that any interview conducted by Gareth had any bearing or prior knowledge of the outcome of DCís time at the club is ridiculous.

Thatís an assumption youíve jumped to, not me.
Iím quite aware that we are under different ownership and a different situation even though Gareth is conducting the interviews.
If there was any wrongdoing by Gareth it would have come to light in the investigation,
It hasnít, there wasnít and there never was.
That wasnít the point I was making.

MY point is that it REMINDS me of the bad old days and itís a period of cobblers history that Iíd rather forget.
No more , no less.

Gareth is doing a good job as media officer but I personally get reminded of the bad old days by these style of interviews and Iíd rather someone else was interviewing as an understudy to Gareth as a consequence.

IMHO the interviews have always been of a very unprofessional nature and I guess thatís a consequence of them now being done via zoom with the chairman living abroad.
That said they were also pitiful when they looked to be located in a broom cupboard.

Iím no technical wizard but Iíd have thought things could have advanced to a more professional level in the years that have passed.

The 72 reporting that Brady is interested in bringing Eppiah and Magloire back

Eppiah I think is out of contract this summer and Magloire has another year left at Blackburn

I think magliore would command a fee and will probably end up with one of the bigger league two clubs as a consequence.

At a guess
Doncaster.

These latest videos are beginning to remind me of the old broom cupboard offerings whereby Gareth used to read a series of scripted questions to DC and fans would lap it all up.

Would it be possible for KT to be interviewed by someone whose not on the club payroll and who may actually ask questions that may prove more enlightening.

Every time I see mr wilshere interviewing I canít help but think of the Cardoza days and the offerings served up for fans to digest.

I donít want reminding how that all panned out despite many editions of the Gareth and David show and Iíd just be more comfortable with a different interviewer nowadays who doesnít remind me of the bad old days where interviews were posted even as it was clear to many fans that things were very very wrong behind the scenes.

Gareth just always brings back memories of DC and what followed and I personally donít want reminding of those times and those interviews.

KT interview not particularly revealing but gave a lot of deserved credit to both the clubís community efforts (nice he praised KC for his work on this), and the success of the clubs other teams - both good news items re the club and the wider community

Re the Trust and an update, Derek (as far as i know the only Trust board member who regularly contributes to this forum) reasonably asked for a little time and said there would be an update by the end of the month so I think we should respect that request.
Absolutely right.
Derek deserves maximum respect given that he has already given a timeline.

On a side note it would seem that the club being sold is a load of codswallop.
How can anyone get something so black or white so wrong ?

7  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Summer Transfer window on: May 26, 2022, 06:58:53 am
If Salford are in for anyone against us , we will be outbid .
They pay two or three times as much .

Maybe the new owners can outbid them.
Anyone know how much the club sold for ?
8  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Summer Transfer window on: May 25, 2022, 14:32:24 pm
To preserve unity any increase offered to the three players in question should be available to the first team squad? As you are not on the Board in any Financial capacity can you please confirm your statements above is or are correct and based on fact.
In English please  Grin

Has the club been sold yet?
Anyone any idea?
10  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: May 24, 2022, 20:01:45 pm
It's a secret, he's not going to tell you  Grin
Have the 200 special supporters been informed so they can hold a vote?
11  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Summer Transfer window on: May 24, 2022, 19:44:42 pm
My big question is - why donít the directors seek investment elsewhere .
It seems to be a closed shop to me .
If you look at the Mansfield board for example , they have attracted money into the club .
Why doesnít this happen with our club ?
Investors would want a % of any land sale profits?
Just a guess
12  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: May 24, 2022, 17:42:57 pm
Iím hearing the word SOLD on the grapevine!
I hope theyíve made a few bob for sticking around.
13  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: May 24, 2022, 16:37:09 pm
A complete lack of any substance there.
These ideas are like wish lists on the transfer RUMOURS page.
A different thread is needed Ďplayers Iíd like to seeí

I think these ideas are admirable but as is pointed out neither this or the south stand idea have club backing.

As the update says
Time to draw a line.

The club have had a year or so to embrace these schemes and havenít

Thatís an inconvenient truth.
14  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Redevelopment Closer Than Ever? on: May 24, 2022, 14:34:34 pm
Fair play to them, although I'm surprised they have needed to go down that route as they are the epitome of how to run a football club and have made million over million in buying non league players and selling them on.
Same here
15  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Summer Transfer window on: May 24, 2022, 11:27:30 am
Are you paying the extra wages or are you spending other peoples money?

One thing the club must do is to give the 3 players a date when the offers are withdrawn and we can move on!
The club can easily afford to give these players improved contracts if they want to.
They can use the million pound they found at the drop of a hat to match cilldaras offer for the land.
They wonít be needing that any time soon.

Thereís obviously money available itís just what the owners decide to spend it on.
Maybe it will be the football club.
16  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Summer Transfer window on: May 24, 2022, 09:24:39 am
There is a way. The Club can double or triple their wages.
Or they can fanny around claiming players are going to sign and then someone else comes in and does exactly that like they did with vadaine Oliver which enabled him to pick up a four figure a week sum rather than the low wage that he was on here.
17  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Summer Transfer window on: May 23, 2022, 16:29:44 pm
They certainly shouldn't do that in the case of McWilliams if we want any compo!
Wonít he just sign for someone else when he turns 24 ?
18  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Summer Transfer window on: May 23, 2022, 16:00:48 pm
If any of them are to leave, I hope its done quickly so that the club can look for replacements early on.
Letís get new signings in now to replace these.
None will sign and we should be proactive rather than reactive.
Thank them for their efforts and call off any contract talks.
19  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Summer Transfer window on: May 22, 2022, 12:39:31 pm
I really hope not, for me an awful signing
Has KT managed to get any extra investment yet
20  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Summer Transfer window on: May 22, 2022, 07:20:39 am
Thought that Síland loanee Jack Diamond who played for Harrogate last season was useful left/right winger. Presumably not going to make their 1st team now?

Stockport in for him
