Well that's the 92 completed. Impressive stadium (prefer the Emirates) but quire a site. Crap game so far, things can only get better? Got given a sponsors ticket, very fancy food included (much as you can eat) and the obligatory programme. No atmosphere and I can't here the Burnley fans, that's if there are any here. Pretty sure you'd have heard our lot in the same situation.

I believe Everton will have a new ground 2025/6 but until then that's me done unless anybody knows anything different.

Bromley, Gateshead, Solihull, Altrincham ?

Make of this what you will;

It will all come out in the wash - annual financial statements - particularly of a relatively small club like Peterborough.

Why don't the Trust get involved with this and push Tom to act on their behalf ? There are many ways to skin a cat.
64  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: January 2024 Transfer Window on: January 02, 2024, 15:33:07 pm
Regardless of the price tag for Bowie, i know hes very set on moving back further north.

This was a good option for another years experience at a decent level but he has a very young family and wants to be closer to them in Scotland, if not playing in Scotland

I'd be shocked if he stayed another year and if he doesnt find a move much further north.

If that's the case you'd think virtually any club in Scotland would be interested in signing him.
65  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Did you know? on: December 31, 2023, 12:17:00 pm
Dad used to buy the Playfair football annual every year and keep them so as soon as i could read and became aware of my roots it was reviewed thoroughly for all things Cobblers. As a young lad I remember noting in my scrapbook that Opponents had scored a goal or two again not realising that Opponents was not a person.

Yes I knew.
66  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Cheltenham Town F C (H) on: December 31, 2023, 11:48:20 am
It's live on IFollow so that's where I'll be watching it.

It feels like a banana skin to me after Lincoln.

Weather forecast is for rain. Be prepared to get wet in the East!

Happy New Year to anyone who's going (or isn't).
67  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Lincoln Friday 29th December. on: December 30, 2023, 18:21:46 pm
Good for you (and them). I've done all that, got the t-shirt, I've no interest whatsoever of doing it again. Will be at Tottenham v Burnley on Friday.
You going?

Would you be able to travel on the trains for free? Just yourself or yourself and a partner? Thameslink only?

My Grand Dad (ex Station Master) used to travel all over the place for free in retirement.

Tottenham v Burnley - I'd prefer Cobblers v Cheltenham (I know they're not the same day).

Ir didn't work well for Bradford and don't think it will work well for them

He almost got them to promotion last season.

This is interesting;

Celebrating 120 years of the Bantams, next season's offering will see an Adult (aged 24-64) again pay just £198 for their season ticket, working out at less than £8.61 per home match.

A Senior (65+) and a Young Person (17-23) will both be charged £174, with a Youth (12-16) paying £126 and a Junior (11 and under) £30.

Half our Season ticket prices. They need twice the gate we get to equal our revenue. Puts things in perspective.

I'd be concerned about him being a bit jaded but you never know.
69  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Top ten Cobblers attendances of all time on: December 27, 2023, 13:28:43 pm
Well, at least I've been to three of them!

Marvo, do you have the attendance for our, what was it? Charity Shield final against Newcastle in 1909 or whenever? Thought played at the Oval - but maybe got everything wrong!
Evers might have been there to confirm!  Cheesy

Stamford Bridge - 7,000 only per Frank Grande's book.

Sam's last chance to get 20 league goals in 2023.
71  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Oxalona@ home on: December 23, 2023, 16:05:26 pm
10th at Christmas. 30 points before Christmas.

Brady, £ for £ probably as good a manager as there is in the league.
72  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Oxalona@ home on: December 23, 2023, 15:38:56 pm
Gate = 7,581.

Very impressive especially the Saturday before Christmas.
73  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Top 5 Cobblers Memories on: December 20, 2023, 21:30:29 pm

74  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Conflicting websites, opinions sought on: December 20, 2023, 19:12:57 pm
The local press at the time for both sides might contain definitive answers. The journalists of that time were very thorough and professional in carrying out their responsibilities.

Football clubs used to employ full time Secretaries to deal with all the detail.
75  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: Jon Brady on: December 11, 2023, 13:00:56 pm
What a magnificent job he's done. Even I thought he might be challenged post Colin's exit but none of it. Good football too. Long may he continue to reign.
76  The Hotel End / Cobblers Corner / Re: The Rise of Sam Hoskins on: December 11, 2023, 12:58:43 pm
Do we know there isn't a buy out clause in Sam's latest contract ? I can see the Boards reasoning/excuse for selling him from here if there is one.
77  The Hotel End / Other Football & Sport / Re: Football Managers on: December 05, 2023, 23:07:51 pm

Glad he is back in management and it's the club that is his spiritual home but after last time you do wonder if it's the right decision.

He was earning in excess of £4 million per year at the time he left last time so I imagine it was a relatively easy decision for him. He won't be on less and they are desperate.

78  The Hotel End / Other Football & Sport / Re: Football Managers on: December 04, 2023, 16:41:33 pm
Wilder hotly tipped to take over at Sheff United. Reading their forum the fans are very much divided after he 'walked out' on them before. We know that feeling.
I'd imagine he jumped before he was pushed last time.

This is all I could find about "the last time". Interesting.

Two goals shy of his 20 for 2023.

There's another thread on there complaining about a lack of ticket availability.

One or two of their forum members may be able to clarify what happened the day Dennis Byatt hit the post
