Unfortunately for those of us who would be happy to go out, I'd still imagine that we will qualify with relative ease. Home games vs Southampton U21 and Stevenage to come. Can't see us losing either, reserve team or otherwise.
Injuries last night much more of a concern than the result, hopefully the subs were made as precautions.
Bringing on Lines and Martin (rather than Marshall for example) is concerning but hopefully another sign that this competition is not being taken seriously. No more concerned by this than by the Luton result.
Fingers crossed for the weekend.

So what would have excited you? Maybe a Prem team, containing eleven youngsters that you've never heard of? Maybe even away, at an iconic stadium...that you can't visit anyway!
Given the nearest you can get to a game is I-Follow, which by many accounts is a shocker, really can't get what those moaning about drawing Bristol City expect!
This. The draw is almost meaningless, although a game on proper TV would have been nice. Got as good a chance of beating these as anyone really. Ground I've not been to so shame there's no fans allowed. Hope we win.

Clearly out of our budget range but I'm shocked Michael Jacobs is still without a club following his release from Wigan. Presumably waiting on a Championship offer.
Devante Cole also still without a club.

We’re sh1t and we’ll always be sh1t the yoof of today beaten before they start, waiting for a handout from the state. I’ll post what I like pal, if you don’t like it don’t read it.
Lmao what are you on about you miserable buggar? No idea what NTFC has to do with the "yoof of today" or wanting a "handout from the state". People are just rightly perplexed by you being so miserable when a ball hasn't been kicked this season and we were promoted last year. Give the lads a chance jeez

Solid fixture list.
Most of the good aways towards the end of the year when things will hopefully be back to normal.
Aiming to get to Wigan, Crewe, Accrington, Wimbledon and Doncaster for the first time this season.

As it's the older generation who appear to have accepted the government covid guidelines and adhered to them perhaps it is they who should be given priority as some of the younger people have adopted a "this does not apply to us" attitude.
I'm sorry but this is just b*llocks. The number of elderly people that I have seen flouting lockdown rules since day one is insane. The elderly were the last to leave the pubs pre-lockdown and the first to rush back afterwards. Proper keep calm and carry on stuff. Not like they're the ones who are likely to need a hospital bed when they get it. Madness.

I think we should do everything we can to keep the XI who played the last two games, including loanees.
Marshall also deserving of a new deal.
Build from there and replace as appropriate.

I've had similar positive responses to the game of football that was served up, from people who would never normally dream of watching a Northampton game even on TV.
I think it stood out how fit both teams appeared to be, especially to anyone who had watched the earlier game between Exeter and Colchester which was played at a snail's pace. How I wish we had been playing one of those sides.
People were largely complimentary about us, saying we had the better chances in the game (no criticism of the style of play). Olayinka, Goode ("apart from the goal") and Morton were the three singled out as showing a bit of class by people who had never watched us before.
Received several messages yesterday during the Liverpool game saying they couldn't wait for the Northampton second leg, which was sure to be far more entertaining than the dross being served up.
Just hopeful that the result goes our way this time, but I don't think we shamed ourselves at all, we're probably more harsh on the standard of football in League Two than those who never watch it.

There has been long enough between games for the old pre-season optimism to seep in prior to some play-off games.
Real potential to come back down to earth with a terrible crash, but enjoying this feeling while it lasts.

On the subject of creating an artificial environment for our home leg I wouldn’t have thought it would be too difficult to cover the east stand with flags etc?
Do they still have the old ones lying around from when construction was halted? Extremely easy fix if so.
