Is Potter better than D'Ath/Holmes? Would he fit into a Wilder set-up over a season? Probably not to both.

If this is the same whisper I've heard I believe Mr Slowe is referring to Abu Ogogo of Dagenham.  Not sure why he feels he cannot reveal the name of the player?!  We might be talking about different players - hard to tell give he's revealed almost zero information.

For the record, I have absolutely no idea how valid this particular rumour is.  As an East London Cobbler myself I know a few Dagenham fans and he's certainly well-loved and something of a talisman, think they were expecting him to step up a level to be honest though.

Both Chapman and Ogogo would be interesting signings considering they've both spent time inside during their careers.

Chapman, Newport.

Ah, that seems more likely given the Oxford connection.

Reading his Wikipedia, we should ask ourselves if our's is a club who really wants to be signing such a reckless individual...

"In October 2012, while shaking his baby's milk, he left the cap off the bottle and the boiling milk spilled onto his chest, scalding his nipple. He went to A&E, but recovered to play in Oxford's 3–1 away win against Wycombe Wanderers the following day."

Daggers fans seem to think Ogogo is heading to league 1.

Also seems like mansfield are pretty much nailed on to take chapman back.

The only rumor I have heard and it was on here is Ryan Watson at Leicester and it would make sense to be fair.

Was in our side before his injury.

The main thing is we improve on the players released.

Ryan Watson -> Carter I would see as an improvement.

I asked watson on twitter whether he was coming back and he said he's not sure at the minute. Injury is healing well he said.

Potter would need to have 46 "on days" to convince me he is truly better over a season than Holmes/D'Ath. I suppose you only saw him when he ripped us apart last year?

The only time I've been impressed with Potter was when he was up against Alfei, who my nan would probably look good against.

Have you just put your Nan up as a rumour for a possible signing?

Maybe not, but from what I've seen/heard they'd have more on days than Potter - who's only had 1 full season of football in the past 4. Why would AFC release him?

Don't get me wrong, Potter is decent, but I very much doubt that with Holmes and D'Ath here for 2 or 3 years, i.e. long term, Potter probably wouldn't get into the side?

I think if we can get him he would be a good signing, he isn't injured very often, although he was injured for a bit last season, he's versatile, good leader, I would love to see a player like that sign for us if he doesn't go to League One that is
