When he's had the ball in and around the 18 yard box he's looked dangerous. He's unleashed a couple of fantastic volleys on the turn from just outside the box against Crewe and Vale (one of which hit the bar and one of which went narrowly over), of the sort of quality that you rarely see at this level. But no service to him = one goal in four games. TARGET MAN please.

If we can give him some chances to score and stop knocking the ball to his head about 50 yards out all the time we could have some player on our hands.
Agree 100%. Thornton is the ideal player to play in behind Harrad. Can play the killer pass. Trouble is who do you drop for the fat fcuker?

I thought he was f***ing s***e tonight.
First touch is abysmal and he always gave the ball away.
That's Barnet and Morecambe now who have marked him out of the game and he'll come up against much better defences than that.

Only a short while ago Cobblers fans were moaning that he was too good to sign for us. Now he's not good enough? The time to judge him is when he receives some decent service! Put Jacobs back on the wing and he might get that. The big player is Osman. Without him the team loses its heartbeat.

"Every Cobblers player is a potential hero, not the villain some portray him as" (to the sound of 'All Together Now').

Very, very harsh. Both teams were abysmal at keeping the ball last night - not just Harrad.

To be fair he was poor tonight ........... but the passing up to him was in the main atrocious, with too main balls over-hit, making control of the ball difficult.

He wasn't good last night, that's for sure, but then again look at Josh Walker, he had a mare too, and both of them are quality players. Harrad will produce the goods, no problem, but first somebody has to give him the ball somewhere other than round the edges of the opposition's defensive screen; also, lobbing balls in his general direction is a waste of time. So far we've failed to learn to use him, he needs to move in onto killer ball from the wings, not keep chasing useless passes.

As per usual we waste a decent striker by giving him no service and firing 50 yard balls into him, what is he supposed to do?!

The "problem" of having a player as good as Walker is that as everything in the middle of the park goes through him, if he plays badly so does the team.

Shaun Harrad is obviously a player. You can tell that from the few games he has played. However he needs to be in the right areas in and around the box not wasting his energy chasing lost causes. That is why we need a target man who he can play off. Also he has not had any decent service and the couple of half chances he has had were self made. He is decent and will score goals given the right service. Sammo needs to play to his strengths if we are spending all this money on him.

Ive said it time and again. Cobblers need to come up with some ideas for attacking that don't come from randomly chipping it up to Bayo (He left ages ago now!).
Don't think Sammo and Crosby are that good in terms of coaching attackers and I'd get in a strikers coach

We are using Harrad totally wrong, be no suprise if he loses all confidence. Why the f*** sign a player to score goals then play him as a target man. Nothing short of disgraceful and if i was Harrad i'd be fuming.

We've seen it before ...we can stop a prolific striker in his tracks !
By playing him the wrong position and giving him the wrong service.

As said above Harrad had a man stuck to him like glue & nearly every time he had an arm holding him so maybe on another night he might have been more affective

Do you know what "Nemesis" means?
A righteous infliction of retribution manifested by an appropriate agent personified in this case by a sex starved voyeur that is Tyro.

I like Harrad, he and McKenzie are certainly not the problem with the side at the moment.

We lack the midfielders who can carry the ball up to the strikers and then lay the ball in front of them facing the goal and not with their backs to the goal. I didn't think that Harrad's running off the ball was as good last night as his previous starts. That's why their 18 was so effective, he gathered the ball in midfield carried a few yards then found a striker every time.
