I understand what you’re saying and your assessment of the style is fair. However your have to look at the wider context. KT has been blasted for all of his appointments as Chairman. We finally get a manager who has us challenging for the playoffs for the first time since Wilder and people still want him sacked. It’s illogical.
Its clear to me that some people on here just want something to moan about. If we got rid of Curle and then ended up finishing 12th but playing better football they would be the first to moan and say ‘pretty football doesn’t win anything’.
Couldn't have put it better myself. We played some decent stuff under Austin (for a bit) and people were saying how well he was doing. We then got relegated, had a terrible start in Lge 2 and everybody was on his back. We're now (nearly) in a play-off spot, had a really good cup run, which brought in about £700k. But yeah I understand KC is useless! For all the Curle haters, go and get a season ticket at Liverpool or Man City or POSH!

An expected negative reply from man@work. Why not go the whole hog and say that our last three games have all been lost therefor over the season we would have zero points. Or you could have said that prior to those 3 defeats we gained 16 points from 6 games which equates to 122 points in the season. That of course is better than the 99 points we achieved under Wilder and on statistics makes KC the better manager so why do you keep calling for his head. Try going through life with a more positive attitude, who knows you might evev enjoy it.
It’s not negative, it’s a FACT, we are in the bottom half of the current form table for a reason. Stats can be manipulated to show anything you like. Maybe its being a multimillionaire that makes me a miserable fcuker?

And of course we have to play Hoskins somewhere!! Take away his pens, what else does he bring to the team that Marshall cant, 2 assists in 33 games is a woeful contribution but some treat him like some kind of messiah

I rate Hoskins. I really don't care if other people don't; he's technically very good in terms of close control, he works his backside off for 90 minutes every game, tracks back, bombs forward, causes problems for the opposition and has a reasonable amount of pace. Yes, his end product is questionable at times and often frustrating but it has been far better this year than in previous seasons. Before I'm shouted down on the grounds of that not saying much, according to the BBC stats at least he is currently our top scorer and has the second highest amount of assists this season after Nicky Adams. Those are stats that speak for themselves.
He's our longest serving player and has consistently been in or around the starting 11 under 6 different managers. OK, we've all questioned the managerial skills of most of those at times but like it or not, they are all professional football coaches who know more than any of us about professional football, regardless of how inflated our own opinions might be at times.
I've no inside knowledge on anything but my gut feel is that far from being released, Hoskins will be one of the first players offered a new deal.

BackOfTheNet I think you will be proved right that Hoskins will be one of the first to be offered a new contract. But '6 different managers, all professional football coaches who know more than any of us about professional foofball'. Judging by their posting history I'm sure we have some experts who know more than any manager we have employed or likely to employ in the future.

If Curle has his contract extended, which I think he will, then I also expect Hoskins to be given a new contract by Curle. I think Hoskins has been our most improved player by some distance this season, and at times has been excellent, so he would have earned a new deal. I still think however, that if the club want to continue to push on next season - whatever the division that is in - then Hoskins should feature less prominently as a starter.
He would still be a valuable squad player though IMO.

I’ll have a little wager you still attend enough games to make a season ticket better value. You love the club too much Manny, you know you do?

Our most improved players have been Goode and Cornell . No question . Hoskins has improved and is overly criticised in my view
