The remaining fixtures don’t make good reading. I’d say anything less than maximum points against the Wombles and Rovers will see us clutching at straws.

We are down, the inability of the Chairman to manage our club competently has cost us our place in L1.
History tends to repeat itself and the parallels with the JFH and Austin Season are plain for all to see.

A statistical comparison......

on the 11th March 2019 (at around the same point as this season in the last full season) the bottom team (Wimbledon) were eight points adrift of the team in 18th place (Scunny). Wimbledon had 33 points with 10 games to play and Scunny had 41.

That season Plymouth went down with 50 points on goal difference from the two teams above them who had the same number of points.

Fast forward to this season and the bottom team (Rochdale) are nine points adrift of the team in 18th (Burton), Dale have 32 to Burtons 41 with 10 games to play each.

The seasons league tables are remarkably similar at this point of the season, which would indicate that 49-50 points are going to be required to avoid the drop. By my reckoning we still need 3 or 4 more wins.

Anyway.....updated "who's got who left to play"....

Where did the term "squeaky bum time" originate from?

Does it pre-date Ron Atkinson?

They're certainly in it, up to their necks if they go down after the JFH spending spree.

I wonder if he'll feel "so at home at Burton" in league two?

I'd be very surprised if Burton go down only needing ten from ten to be safe and I hope they get six of them against Swindon and Wigan.

There's clearly never going to be an 'easy' run in for anyone, especially as we're all at the bottom and many games left to play.
Rochdale will have to perform a miracle to escape.

Our clearest opportunities have to be on Saturday and the remaining home games.
It's going to go to the wire and wouldn't be surprised if we are relying on other results when we face Sunderland, including our own!

Even if we stay up, we'd probably have to go through this all again anyway?
