played 18, won 11, drawn 2, lost five.

When he took over on New Years Day they were bottom of the league with 13 points having played 21 games, one more than us and were eight points behind us.

Now four months later they are 17th, eleven points ahead of us on 51 having played a game less! Since Jan 1st they have picked up 38 points and we have picked up 19.

....and yet you still wouldn’t want to have him back in charge. It’s a funny old game.

I think it’s got more to do with their chairman supporting Jimmy in the Jan window.

Didn't our chairman support him?

Big earners like van Veen, Bunney, Turnbull, Facey & Richard O'Donnell signed. Success didn't follow though and then we had too many high earners on the books.

That's the spirit. A Friday night win will put immediate pressure on the others to get a result. I've got a good feeling about this..........

We are down, relegated with a whimper, terrible decisions from the “chairman “ utterly incompetent, time to leave Thomas.

For fúcks sake change the record.

Going to be very tough but still all to play for. Back end of the season always throws up some odd results, let’s hope we’re on the right end of them. The promotion-chasing sides we are playing will have huge pressures of their own, especially the likes of Sunderland and Ipswich who will feel they shouldn’t really be in this division.

No, because he’s taking the p1ss out of the supporters of this club and I don’t like it.

This must be the worst post-promotion season ever mustn't it? 4 points from the opening two games was the high point. We've been a nothing team and the creativity and forward play as bad as anything I can remember and I go back 35 years. Recruitment and budget have played their part no doubt. Who gets promoted and rips up the squad, only us. It wouldn't be so bad if we thought we'd get better players. We haven't and it's been woeful, truly woeful.
So back to League Two. Will we try to creat an identity, build solid foundations, or just muddle our way through with journeymen, cheap cast-offs and loanees? We've had players coming through the academy but rarely get enough game time. I'd rather see us develop a Chukwemeka than play Edmondson.
We need a football man at the top, and also someone with vision in how to take the club forward on and off the pitch because we're stagnating. We're only one bad season from a fatal relegation.

Absolutely bang on and totally correct about a fatal relegation, could easily be next season. Don't criticise the man at the top though, some on here won't like it.

Spot on post Wadey. Summed up excellently, I must admit this is the most downbeat I've felt about the club since the Barnwell era.

So I'm thinking we want Crewe and Swindon (only by one goal though) to win today? Swindon winning today not ideal but it would at least keep AFC Wimbledon in close proximity. I can see Tuesday v Ipswich being a scrappy 0-0 but hopefully a scrappy 1 niller to cobblers. Gillingham will make it an attritional game so can see that being a struggle. Blackpool might be under pressure to get play off points so that could be another tightly contested games. If we can scrap out two home wins then we're going to have to draw at the very least I feel - hopefully by then, Sunderland will have no chance of automatic promotion and rest their first XI after a long and compact  season. Still feel it would be a big ask to beat them, with the pressure that final day of season games can bring - we struggle to score so in a pressurised situation it looks a long shot. Overall though a really disappointing  season as others have mentioned.

Wigan winning
Bristol Rovers losing
Rochdale drawing

If these scores stay the same and Wimbledon win tonight I can see the bottom 4 teams staying the same for the rest of the season

So as it stands in the 1230 games, Wigan are winning, Rovers are losing, Dale are drawing.....

If it stays the same and Wimbledon beat Swindon later, the bottom 4 will be defined and slightly (4 points) adrift of safety......
