Fleetwood visit the PTS on Tuesday night, hopefully the last game behind closed doors for the foreseeable future!
Joey Bartons men sit in 7th place in the table, with seven wins from their 14 games so far. They are on a four game unbeaten run during which time they've scored 12 goals. Two of those 4 games were against Sunderland, a 2-1 win in the Papa Johns Trophy and a 1-1 draw in their last league game. Prior to that they beat Plymouth 5-1 and won 4-1 at Bristol Rovers, a result which signalled the end of Ben Garners reign.
Away from home they've won two and lost 4 of their 6 games, the victories coming at Gillingham and Bristol Rovers.
Callum Camps is having a great goalscoring season from midfield, with 10 goals to his name already, Ched Evans has notched seven goals too but only appeared as a sub in the last game. They also have Josh Morris and Paddy Madden in their ranks so are not short of options up front.
For the Cobblers Ryan Watson and Cian Bolger are both a yellow away from a ban, with Sam Hoskins, Jack Sowerby and Chris Missilou two yellows away.
Head to head only 9 games between the two sides, The Cod have the upper hand with five victories including four in the last five games, the other game a draw. Our last victory over them was in 2013 when a solitary Luke Norris goal a minute from time was enough to win the points. The Town have failed to score in their last three meetings with Fleetwood.
James Adcock will referee the game, he is a former Championship ref who has slipped back down the ladder somewhat. He's reffed ten games this season dishing out 19 yellow and two red cards, his last game was Cheltenhams 2-1 FA Cup win over Crewe on Saturday. The last time he was in charge of a Cobblers game was on Boxing Day 2013, the 0-1 defeat at Burton, his only other Cobblers game as far as I can see was our 3-0 win at AFC Wimbledon in 2011, a game where he sent off Nick McCoy.
Kick-off is at 7.45pm.

Most of the time, when we're playing teams doing well in the league we tend to get almost none of the ball and surrender two soft goals, so I'm going for a 2-0 to Fleetwood but I'd be happy to be proven wrong.

Time to start picking up points from the teams above us. Although Fleetwood are higher in the table I regard Doncaster to be the tougher fixture as they are only 2 points behind with 2 games in hand. 17 of Fleetwood's 23 points have been gained at home. Their 2 away wins were at Gillingham and Bristol Rovers and their 4 defeats at Peterborough, Charlton, Accrington and Rochdale so I believe we get something from this game but we must watch Callum Camps who has hit a hot scoring streak since his move from Rochdale.

This all sound very fishy, we can’t have our cake and eat it although the pitch looks a bit mushy, Curle will doubtless pea me off with his codswallop of a team selection, it will all be bits and pieces again.🤭

Trawling through the fixtures this one did catch the eye. But it's at our plaice and if everyone chips in maybe we can bag three penneth. (showing my age there!)

Surprised this isn't being played Fryday night. Either way we'll be feeding off scraps and likely get battered

The sole aim is not to flounder. We need to net a couple before Barton gets on his perch and starts carping on about missed chances. A lot of people are saying it will be a mackerel if we win but I might have a couple of squid on it.

If only we had Zander at the back it would be a guaranteed 3 points. Joey would be pouting on the touchline, I'd be doing a celebratory conger around the PTS ... and happy dace for Mr Whiting.

We will net a few and get plenty of bites. Our lines of communication are strong and the bait is manna from heaven.KC may walk on water at the end.

2-1 to us if we stop taking our best players off with 20 minutes to go Keef? If we do, 2-2. P.S Thanks for the match preview GPC, impressive as ever.

I am very disappointed. I was expecting a serious preview to this important match, and not just a series of childish, cod awful jokes.
