We have Robert Lewis reffing this, so far this season in 15 games he has issued 42 yellows and 3 reds, including 6 yellows last tuesday at MK v Posh. Lincoln have only won this fixture 3 times with 12 home wins and 11 draws. 2 seasons ago, in the first game of the season, they won 1-0 with their only effort on target after we had absolutely battered them and we missed 3 1 on 1's and their keeper had a blinder (Vickers I think). Historically it has been a low scoring fixture averaging less than 2 goals a game and on statistics so far this may continue as we have only scored 5 home goals from 9 games (failing to score in 6) and in 8 away games Lincoln have scored 9. Their defence has been particularly tight in only conceding 4 times, 3 of these in their first 2 away games, so they have only conceded 1 goal in the last 6 away games. This week they have lost 2 home games, 0-4 to Sunderland and 0-1 to Shrewsbury despite having 73% possession. Like us Lincoln have recently had several players out injured and on tuesday they only had 6 on the bench. To get anything from this we need to be a lot better defensively as it is difficult to see us scoring many given the few chances we are creating. We also need to support the strikers better as several times at Oxford we had the ball in forward positions and the player had nobody in close proximity to pass to. Bolger will be available and hopefully Sheehan so we can get back to a more recognisable back line. However, Sowerby has to be a doubt after coming off injured at Oxford. If you are attending please ensure that you adhere to the club's guidelines and also at the final whistle wait for your section of the stadium to be evacuated and not rush for the exits. Stay safe everbody.

Well, West Stand OAP has done most of the preview for me again! As he points out there are some strange little quirks amongst the stats.....
We are the lowest scorers at home in the division (5) and are second only to Wycombe in the entire EFL. They (Lincoln) have conceded fewest goals away from home in the League (4)
Their only league defeat on the road came at Doncaster (1-0) on October 31st, they have won at MK, Blackpool, Crewe, Rochdale and Swindon. They have also won Cup games at Crewe, Bradford, Mansfield and Shrewsbury.
They currently sit 4th in the league, 2 points off the top despite as OAP says back to back home defeats.
Head-to-head between us..... Overall we have played each other 55 times, its 15 wins a piece with a larger than average 25 draws. At home we have won 12, drawn 12 and lost just 3 of out 27 meetings. That 1-0 win for them in their last visit was their first since 1992. Its usually a low scoring affair with only 4 out of the last 21 games between the sides yielding more than 2 goals.
Midfielder Jorge Grant leads the scoring charts for them with 10 goals, 7 of them in the league, he's backed up by 6ft 3 inch Dutch central defender Lewis Montsma who has eight goals this term. Robbie Gotts (on loan from Leeds), Brennan Johnson (on loan from Forest) and Timothy Eyoma (on loan from Spurs) are others to watch out for.
Cobblers connections.... well Callum Morton is on loan with Lincoln, however he picked up a shoulder injury back in September which required an operation. Morton is back at West Brom now for rehab and is expected to rejoin Lincoln but not until February.
In other Imps injury news Captain and Midfielder Liam Bridcutt is out until the New Year and defender Adam Jackson is sidelined for another week or so.

Nine away wins and only conceded 4 goals in the league away. They must be looking forward to Saturday.

We can see why West Brom wanted Morton to go to Lincoln rather than us. They got that right.

Apparently, some Sunderland players who played Lincoln tested positive, so should testing pick it up in the Lincoln squad, chance this could be off.

My father tellme some players who played for both:
Dicksie MacNeil was brilliant goal-scorer.
Terry Pickle was tough defender
John Mackin had foot like a shovel.

Sheehan was "close" for last Saturday but didn't play, didn't make the 18 in midweek and doesn't make the 18 today....how close is "close"? Still, he is on a "pay as you play" contract so he's not earning much is he? Holmes the fall guy then? Talked about the reins being let off, back to feeling good and ready to dribble and take players on....... enough to be dropped I guess!
