Edmondson has been poor for me, but like you say it is still early. We do have plenty of options up front and wouldn’t surprise me if there is plenty of rotation unless attacking players start hitting a run of form.
Agreed. He puts in a fair bit of effort, but so far I'm unconvinced by his ability.

I don't know how much I trust them, but McWilliams completed double the amount of his passes and with a 15% higher accuracy, won 2 of his 4 ground duels rather than Hoskins 1 out of 7, and lost possession 10 times against Hoskins' 17. Hoskins created one big chance, while McWilliams didn't create anything.
You can take it from a pinch of salt, as it notes Bolger's perfect aerial game, winning all 7 of his challenges, but doesn't record that horrific mistake that almost costs us a one-on-one, but those stats don't really show that Hoskins had a better than McWilliams, and have him as the lowest scoring player on the pitch.
See, stats can be shown to mean anything you want them to, especially when you leave out the stats that don't favour the side that you are arguing for...

It’s an example of the growing Americanisation of the game that tackles are now termed “land duels”!

My son coached "soccer" in the states and had to say challenge him, if he said tackle him, they almost always did an American football tackle. He also had to call a shirt a jersey and boots cleats. They also shout "offsides" plural, which did his nut in.

Oscar Wilde: "we have really everything in common with America nowadays, except, of course, language." The worst think is now he's lived there a few years he has devloped not only the accent (to be fair he says if he talks normally they don't understand his accent) but the sayings, Refers to me and his mum as "You guys" and says things like "I have a bunch of things to do" You have a bunch of bananas, or flowers, you don't have a bunch of jobs!!!!

How anyone can watch Sam Hoskins play and think he is a natural footballer is beyond me, he gives it everything which is to be admired BUT in L1 you need a bit more than someone who runs around a lot, IMO we will never do any good with players like Sam starting.

Agreed, he's not necessarily the best but he does the job the various managers ask of him, which includes 'running around a lot' (and covering for others), and is a lot better than you give him credit for. Probably a 7/10 or thereabouts most games. Like someone else has said, if all of the others put in as much effort, we'd have a decent side and he probably wouldn't need to be in it.

This one got us promoted and Hoskins was was also part of the chamopionship side. So, what is it about the fast running, top goal scoring, chance making, assist making, medal winning, professionally commited and well coiffured wing wizard you dislike?
hes not cut out for this level, as shown by the stats, he had a bit part in the promotion season under Wilder, and played most if not all the games in our relegation . good at penalties though

Well now you've given that opinion several hundred times, perhaps we can move on.

How Hoskins played the full game yesterday is genuinely beyond me. He was abysmal. He must have a clause that says he has to play. Because that’s genuinely the only explanation that I can think of now.
To say he isn’t up to League 1 is the understatement of the century.

I've always thought he has a good first touch particularly when controlling a longer ball. Its what he does from then on that I have problems with, the law of averages says he's gonna get it right some of the time but it's nowhere near regular enough. The fact that he is still the most permanent member of the eleven five years after Wilders promotion is indictment enough and shows me that we have not progressed at all, inspite of Keith's and every other managers 'journey' since then. I don't believe there's been any improvement in him since then yet he's gone from bit part to become a pivotal figure, first name on the team sheet.

But everybody would have been enthusing over him if his 30 yarder at Lincoln went in instead of hitting the post. There would have been a debate about which goal was the best, his or Rose's.

I like Hoskins. I consider him a vital cog in the team, the sort of player his teammates appreciate even if the fans don't. Apparently every manager since Wilder has rated him too...

But the most successful manager, Wilder, didnt fancy Sam enough to play him as a regular ahead of the likes of Holmes and Adams.

True, but he was what, 20, 21 at the time? And the two you rightly mention as being ahead of him in the pecking order were extraordinarily good players at their peak.

He's a useful player, but he was poor on Tuesday, and should be dropped. Hopefully that will have the same effect as it seems to have had on Watson.
