Curle has gambled on Sheehan being fit because it’s clear he doesn’t rate Horsfall and neither should he .
The gamble isn’t paying off.
We look better playing 4 at the back so that only one of the numpty centre halves has to play , but we have no natural full backs except Harriman who isn’t good enough .
What a mess .
Miller coming back is the only hope

Not disputing that. But facts are facts.

No matter what Eversh*te has to add, they don’t change.

He is on course to have worse League 1 stats that Hasselbaink did. That's how bad this season is.

JFH had 31 games winning 10, drawing 10 and losing 11. KC has had 24, won 6, drew 5 and lost 13.

Today was so bad. Dropping McWilliams lost us the game before it begun.

Dan,

Can you check those stats and correct if appropriate.

In the 42 games (including Cup matches) JFH was our manager I have 12 wins 11 draws and 19 defeats. We only had 5 cup games and we only lost 2 of those.

Haven't we just had a transfer window to sort that out?

10 wins, 10 draws, 17 defeats in JFH's league tenure......

2 of the Cup "wins" were actually penalty shootout wins in the EFL Trophy, some outlets report them as draws (going with the 90 minute results)

Agreed. And JFH managed that on a vastly superior budget (as far as we can tell).

KT should have binned Curl when he had the chance, now we are doomed.

Two points.....

1) You could argue that JFH's budget didn't kick in until the transfer window. After 24 games in charge the date was January 13th.....

2) Those first 24 League 1 games of Hasselbainks charge brought about 8 wins, 5 draws and 11 defeats, scoring 22 and conceding 39, so he was actually performing better at this stage than Curle is. (taking League 1 games only into account)

For me, the transfer window smacked of costcutting..... Holmes not having his contract renewed, Martin, Missilou and Adams all moving away permanently (therefore removed from the wage bill) along with Lines and Smith going out on loan, to be replaced by a free agent (Jones) plus other loan players in Kioso, Edmondson, Morris and Miller.

Net savings i'd guess......and not a sign that the Chairman is willing to pay out to remove the manager at an additional cost.

If KT had binned him before the transfer window at least the new man could of got his own players in to try and keep us up.
We have to win against Wigan and Burton, no excuses.

So the reason we dropped our best “in form” player was that he wanted him to watch the game and work out “the pace of the game” before he came on??!
Flabbergasted! Imagine any sporting contest in any universe- parallel or otherwise- where this makes any sort of sense.
I’m trying so hard to give KC the benefit of the doubt but by crickey he’s making a hard job impossible!

Trying to think of some positives from last night. Defence weren't that bad - oh, apart from that excruciatingly embarrassing first goal. Kioso certainly very lively going forward. Watson looked good early on. Apart from that hmmmm. Looks like Edmondson might have been unlucky with the disallowed goal - pity, as it would have given him a boost.
Still aghast that McWilliams didn't start - (shouldn't we be building a team around him?) - and that Rose only came on late. He is the only proven goalscorer we have.
If Ricky Holmes is still available - would he go for a pay as you play contract I wonder? He is the only player we have seen this season who looks capable of orchestrating anything. He would naturally be after an 18 month contract for some security, and concede that would be a risk.

I do take that back and apologise. Was thoroughly pissed off at last night but that comment wasn’t needed.

+ decent summary and I too was nonplussed by the omittance of McW and Rose. Farcical really!
