After watching the super slo-mo several times I’ve changed my mind and it probably was a foul on Sowerby. It’s the last minute dip by their player who effectively takes him out. At full speed you can understand why the ref gave it, especially if he was looking for a reason for some excitement! Maybe an incident that will go into Cobblers folk law like the Eric Gates pen...maybe not.

While I do feel like that the decision was unlucky, it was hard to argue that we deserved much from that game. If that corner hadn't gone in, we'd have had one shot all game and wouldn't have one on target at all, statisically it was as bad as some of the worst performances under Curle. We do seems to be sitting further and further back, maybe because we feel we've got something to fight for again, so the pressure is back on.

Playing this type of high pressing game is challenging and I would still question the player’s fitness somewhat, we looked a yard slower at the start of the game, JB needs to make better use of the bench and maybe a bit earlier.

I think a week on the training ground will do us a world of good.

Can I be the first to say it? It shouldn't have been a penalty, FACT.

It doesn't get us the point back and as soon as the ref pointed to the spot that wasn't going to happen - referees are human and make mistakes (quite a few in that game!) but I think the referee's association have behaved correctly and JB's response is also correct.

Was that the Northants Referee's Association? Not the PGMOL? Looks like I'll be hanging up my whistle then!!

In this instance was surprised how assuredly you thought that the Ref gave the correct decision. My immediate reaction was that it was our player who was fouled. Generally you are correct in such matters! I know it was in jest that it was the NRA but even so how the NRA could/even would offer an apology

Brave comments and no comments at all to the contrary. Both Marshall and AWilliams brought onto late... imo!

Who is AWilliams? Personally I thought we were too quick after going 1-0 down to take off McWilliams and not for the first time very shortly after making that substitution going from 1-0 to 2-0 down. I think it’s easy to say we should have made changes earlier but you can throw caution to the wind when the game is pretty much lost. On the back of a couple good results I hope people aren’t getting carried away, we still have a poor squad and not great options, Brady has made us competitive but we are still going to lose more than we win. That said I’d like to see Jones start having seen his couple of minute cameo.

This seems unprecedented. I don't think I've ever heard of the referees association apologising for any of their members actions before. We've certainly been on the end of some extremely dodgy decisions in the past, Mansfield play offs immediately springs to mind, but I don't recall ever hearing any hint of an apology for any questionable decisions. Maybe someone can correct me.

I had the same conversation earlier - never heard of of this before.
