Both Horsfall and Jones win every header so the opposition struggle to get near enough to be a real threat....Great win!
Agreed we chased and harried the Shrews to hopeless 2nd half long ball passes which rarely came off. Was it a good performance; not really but the defence and midfield distinguished themselves through out. We lacked decent quality to put them on the back foot as whilst Watson was ok in the midfield both he and Morris were very defensive minded. However Hoskins did have a couple of chances in the second half to make it two nil. At least this win gives us a fighting chance. JB has done well with this team and certainly did well for him today. Our goals against is slowly improving and maybe the difference whether we survive or not.

In the last 10 games we have only conceded 7 goals (including the penalty that wasn't at Charlton) and have kept 5 clean sheets. Shrewsbury were poor but perhaps they were as good as we allowed them to be as they rarely looked like breaching our defense and had only 1 shot on target despite having several key players back in their side. A good day with all of the others losing but I expected those playing away to all lose But Swindon after 2 away wins was a little unexpected losing at home. Of course 4 of the bottom 6 are now at home on Monday. As our recent victories have mostly been due to our sound defensive performances I think we probably have more chance on Monday than at either Posh or Sunderland. They say it's never dull in Hull, let's hope that is so from our perspective.

Today was the first game I’ve not watched this season, that includes all pre season.
Shots on target and a win, great stuff. Il be trying the same tactic next week.
I can’t even moan that we didn’t play well... which I’m sure wasn’t the case.
Interesting to see BAS don’t make the squad. Strange how he goes from first choice sub to not even in the matchday squad a few times a month.

Apparently he was injured. He's just soft and doesn't want to play.

Hopefully, KC will sign BAS for Oldham, if he gets the job beyond this season.....which, unfortunately based on current form, doesn't seem likely!

Got a result where on balance I felt we were slightly second best? Everyone knows our short comings going forward, but our back 4 with McWilliams and Morris in front of it is starting to look like a formidable defensive unit. If Morris were out I would play Sheehan in his role, we need him on the pitch in some of these games but not at the expense of breaking up the Jones/Horsfall partnership. Thought Hoskins had a good game again and was really unlucky not to score with that effort in the first half. He worked a miracle to get that shot away and the keeper pulled off a terrific save to keep it out. McWilliams desire to work for the cause never fails to impress. Good result, the tension mounts?
