There was plenty of them standing with us. As an aside, we stopped off at a pub near Telford on the way back, and won a bottle of Scotch in the raffle. Not a bad day out.

Well, last (and only) time we played at the KC Stadium, came away with an excellent 3-2 win, Hull also near the top that day. 16,000 in attendance on a warm day, with around 6-700 Cobblers. A good stay over in Hull as usual, Beverley Road, Springbank, Old Town and the Welly Club!
Would of course, be happy with a draw.
Hadnt realized this will only be the second time we've played them at the KC. I remember a footbridge but not much else. Bothferry Park I remember for having an extremely narrow away end. Boothferry was analogous of greater Hull I thought.

Despite no other team having fewer away points than us I would say that we have only been truely beaten in 1 of the last 9. We achieved 0-0 draws at Fleetwood,Accrington, Ipswich and Doncaster. We were refereed out of a point at Charlton and our defeats at MK, Swindon and AFC were all avoidable and due to our own failings, leaving Blackpool where we deservable got nothing. However we failed to score in 6 of these games but kept 4 clean sheets. To get anything tomorrow we may need to keep another clean sheet unless we can snatch a goal against the team with the meanest home defense.

As we will definitely need to keep a clean sheet I would suggest that the team should be set up accordingly. My idea is as follows:
Mitchell Kioso Jones Horsfall Mills Hoskins Morris McWilliams Sheehan Watson Rose
Anyone got any better suggestions?

I got arrested outside Boothferry Park just before kick off so I've never seen us play there.
Based on this alone.. 1-2 Cobblers.

We had a good relationship with Bury lads after that. Carried on for another three or four seasons, would meet up home and away!

Yes, been to Boothferry Park a few times with the Cobblers...as well as Swansea City (7 away fans!) and Plymouth Argyle the first time back in 85, after the Cobblers had played at Scunny on the Friday night... also around seven away fans! The alluringly named but rather dodgy Gypsyville estate next to Boothferry estate!

I think swap Mills and Sheehan and it can easily adapt into a 5, when not if, necessary

I was there, Eric Sabin put in an amazing performance that day. Cobblers fans were out in force . I'm sure we had a massive banner/flag which The Chron & Echo gave us that day?

Mitchell covers mainly the middle of his goal? Not sure if Sheehan would be fit enough or mobil enough to play in midfield... I would start Jones with Rose (he must be fit enough to start by now?) and Watson as the fourth midfielder.

The thing I remember most about our previous game at the KC came as we were leaving. A Hull fan ran up behind one of our lads and absolutely belted him one. It's cowardly enough to do that to anyone, but this scumbag picked a guy who was with his little kid and completely minding his own business. Thankfully some of the surrounding Hull fans saw what happened, took exception to it and dealt with it themselves before any other Cobblers got involved, which would have kicked things off.

Sounds a bit like my very first away day.. ironically, April 4th, back in 83. Gresty Road, Crewe. As a fourteen year old, walking back to the station, felt someone grab my NTFC cap, looked around - smack from a Pringle wearing Crewe lad! The Pringles from Crewe died out pretty soon though - every trip back to Gresty Road since, has been a piss take! I blame the ridiculous NTFC flat cap!

Thanks for the info Coolcat, I didn't realise we've only visited the KC once,( which is a great improvement over Boothferry}. Went to that game , cracking day out.

Sorry Old Chap totally mystified by the Irony comment and also your sudden comment. Now where is that prayer for Hull. If God is in purple; maybe you are thinking of the Emperor Julian? Custard Creams
