Caleb's younger brother, 17 year old Carney, is on the bench for Aston Villa tonight against Man City. Another one stolen from our set up by Villa along with Mungo Bridge !

It’s a joke, people can say the the premier league’s introduction was nothing like the proposed super league because of relegation/promotion, but this just gives a facade of competitiveness. The distribution of wealth and pillaging of youth teams means if we are really lucky, appoint the right manager and great recruitment at best we might spend an odd season in the championship before inevitably dropping back to where we usually are.

Apparently according to tele-text gossip column today (yes I still use it) Spurs are interested in Chuck.

Along with Man City. Juventus and Bayern, he is rated among the top players in Europe in his age group.

But he's not good enough to hardly ever play for us??? I think he is talking about Carney not Caleb But Charlatan is referring to Caleb. It's getting very confusing.

Maybe, but I read it as Charlatan saying Spurs were interested in our Caleb, then Carton Lid quoting Charlatans quote that other teams were interested in him too. Maybe some people are getting confused, maybe Carton Lid could confirm he was on about our Chucky. Either way, at least a couple of top/prem/European teams are interested in him but we're not too fussed.

Watching Carney playing for Villa U18’s - I know he’s been on the bench for Villa a few times but I wonder if they would let him out on loan next season - at least now that KC’s gone they won’t have the excuse of us playing long ball to stop him coming to us. That Louie Barry looks a prospect too.

Really don't know why we have a whole thread on a kid who just happens to have a brother playing for us?!? Of course Villa will loan him out to us immediately, once we tell them Bro is at ours too!

Stolen are you insane, these are kids with a future, i don't blame them for trying to better themselves.

Exactly. It’s a pointless discussion, especially as he left at 14. When have we ever seen the true value of a youngster coming through? They would never become the players they do if they’d stayed put. Do you think Toney would be our first £30m striker?! We’ve got so far to go before ever becoming a club like the P*sh who can attract the bigger bucks. Sadly if they stick around a lot of them end up in the non professional leagues.

He left when he was twelve.
I don't understand the recent threads on twitter beating the club up over this. Young players are going to move to to bigger clubs, they always have. One of the top players in the country for his age group is not going to be at a league 1/league 2 club at the age of 17.
Nor should players be stopped from moving on at at the lower academy age.
