Time will tell if this is the right decision, would say there was more good than bad in his caretaker tenure but also a few things that tactically raised eyebrows. Rico as first team coach and an external assistant manager will be hired which I think is the right decision.
Good luck, Jon

Good luck indeed.
Quite surprised this was announced today and not kept under wraps until after tomorrow's game.

Yes, good luck Jon. I will be right behind you. Some big decisions to be made in the next few weeks regarding player recruitment/retained list.

Let's give him a chance. I for one hope it works especially as he's assisted with legends. Good luck Jon.

I agree with all that - like you say he was dealt a limited hand but there were some worrying tactical decisions that we’ve got to hope he’s learnt from. Recruitment is now key and it’s going to be an incredibly competitive market place.

Feel a bit underwhelmed by this but I don't know what/who I expected. Let's just see how it goes. Hope the new structure works out and he gets a great tactical assistant.

Good luck - happy with that! The sincerest of managers, has turned us from the stubborn, embarrassment of Curle's hoofball to relatively attractive, on the front foot football...albeit, too late to save us! Two year contract - perfect, shows a measure of stability and confidence, without being saddled with three or four year contracts if it all goes wrong!

Former striker Darren Collins was his assistant at Brackley. According to Collins' wiki page he now drives lorries for Travis Perkins, so probably rules him out.

I am happy with the appointment and with the staffing structure.
I hope we have a steady continued improvement with the playing side of the club and now it is up to KT to achieve agreement with West Northamptonshire Council and give the long suffering Cobblers fans some tangible expansion of the Stadium,THIS year!

On the plus side he should have a decent knowledge of non-league and youth football, so can hopefully unearth some uncut diamonds.

We've had big names for lower league managers over recent years and some big disappointments. Except for Chris Wilder, even those that brought us success, like Calderwood, Gray, Boothroyd, were not favoured by many!
Jon Brady is part of the club, he has a passion for the club and he knows the club. He has been successful in non league and he is the sort of man that players respect. He is a leader - and that is all that matters to me.
Good luck Jon with rebuilding over the summer and I'm looking forward to watching Cobblers play better football next season than we have for some time

Not my first choice as manager, but, i will give him my full support, hopefully he is knows who he wants as his number 2. Really impressed that KT has done it so quickly, Brady can start planning before the season ends, ideal for him.

It will be interesting to see who this "external candidate with experience" will be. It should be an interesting few weeks ahead, they will also be hiring a new head of recruitment and the normal player turnover that happens this time of year.

A few nagging doubts as we did exactly the same with Dean Austin the last time we got relegated from League One, and it didn't work out.
I like Jon though and he definitely 'gets' what the club should be about.
Ultimately whoever is in the manager's chair is largely irrelevant though if he is not given the tools required to do what is expected of him.

2 years?
It is a strange length, I’m sure we’ve been burnt with these 2 year deals before. I fully expect he will be gone by November with a nice pay out!

So, Nostradamus, talk us through how you would have approached things?

Very pleased with this. I'd give him high marks for his performance to date - we were never going to get enough goals to survive this season but he/we gave it a decent shot. The defensive core of the team has looked a lot stronger bar our goalkeeper.
Definitely planning to purchase a season ticket for next season now. It's up to us to put our money where our mouth's are.

Please feel free to ram this down my throat if I’m wrong and I’ll gladly take that wrath.
Wrong decision and screams a repeat of the Dean Austin debacle.
