I didn’t go but most of the reports sound pretty positive to me. Although BAS was rightly a but of jokes on here last year, maybe at Div 2 he can do a job for us?
Great news as well about Chuck and Scotty.
It sounds like a lot of the new signings made some sort of positive impression on some as well.
I personally am looking forward to Port Vale at home more than I can remember for some time - that may be due to the pandemic of course?
Never been to watch a friendly in my decades of following Cobbs. I really don’t think you can make too many sound conclusions from them and the lack of motivation at the end result is not something that floats my boat.

"My three children were born in Northamptonshire so I like to think I'm an adopted Northamptonian and it's the same for Rico and Sammo. It means a lot to us because this is our county.

Think if we play BAS up top, should be fine! From what I saw of him he did ok; had a real pile driver of a shot which led to our goal. Didn’t fall over too much and looked a lot slimmer and mobile too! One for the future then?

I've said this before, but BAS is 3 months younger than Shaun McWilliams, and I do always think criticism is harsher on what is still basically a youngster because he came through another Academy and not our own.

You have to stick your neb in to every conversation. I've known Baldy for 47 years and he was only joking. The attendance was only 1715 and I suspect some were West Ham fans and I know of at least 3 people who went simply because it was West Ham. So there were probably only around 1500 Cobblers fans there at the most, so obviously many fans have the same opinion of friendlies as me.
Which is why I inserted an - clearly I have inadvertently hit a sensitive spot There were less than Hamner fans circa 0.3%, indeed the West Ham Fans in the South Stand may have been ball boys! How many times do I read of fans not going to friendlies with pompous comments justifying why they are not. You don’t have to go and certainly not justify them! MYOB comes to mind. Finally from what I can see you stick your nose in most conversations on here, maybe with justification so to criticise somebody for pulling yr leg is a bit ……what’s the word?

I was pleasantly surprised last night, especially after seeing the first two go in and expecting a cricket score.
Haven't noticed much mention of Connolly, who I thought looked exciting. Always difficult to judge from these games but thought Chuk & Pollock together up top showed signs that they could be a real handful.
He was quick …..very quick!

Did anyone else notice that Jay Williams was sat amongst the subs, although he wasn’t a sub he was wearing cobblers training kit. I’m not sure what his situation is whether he’s now left Harrogate after his time there, but maybe JB has got him back on trial like with Cam McWilliams?

Interesting spot… I think JB is the sort of guy that feels immense loyalty to his ex players - especially the youngsters. I trust it won’t cloud his judgement … Jay Williams clearly didn’t set Div 2 alight last year. I would have thought bringing on max D to be a regular first teamer would be a better priority for him/us?

Have you been drinking? B. I didn’t make any pompous comment about not going. C. I probably stick my nose into about 2% of the amount of conversations you do. D. My reaction probably was a bit OTT but that’s the effect you seem to have on people.

Have no particular argument with you but a somewhat flat comment by me, with an inadvertently drew some pretty cruel and unnecessary comments. Anyway will be more tactful the next time. Are you going to the next home friendly? PS That's a polite question before you take off again

No, not going to the next friendly, but will be going to every league/cup game I am able, circumstances/potential lockdowns allowing.

I've long wrestled with this, but come to the conclusion that Evers is simply too good to be spoof. It would take a genius to have created him and I dont think we have that amongst us. Evers is real, we should celebrate his glory (apart from when he's being a git).
