I'm surprised the Cambridge pitch invasion hasn't cropped up by now.
1975. Wasn’t there, was at Longtown on a school outward bound course. Remember Ron Atkinson who was their manager at the time, saying we were as bad as Man Utd fans who were running riot up and down the country at the time.

Or the Watford game when they infiltrated the Hotel End - then bedlam!

I can remember a mid-week visit by Wednesday. They filled THE and the rest of the ground, I can remember the ones in the Kop waving and I looked around and nigh on every of fecker was waving back. Got shoved to the ground outside the gates and took a bit of a kicking, never been so happy to see a copper in my life.

I have been reliably informed that our lowest attended away match was on Tuesday 5th May 1981 at York City
Apparently, it was attended by just 2 away supporters..
I love hearing all the stories of away days and home adventures.

I can remember a trip to Vale for the last game of the season. I decided to go late, so rode up on my motorbike and a nice steward let me park it in the players carpark. Met another Cobbler and found a pub. Vale were already promoted and we beat them I think 1-2, but I recall towards the end fo the game their fans lining the pitch and one of our players breaking down the wing was tripped by one of their fans. Zipping past the supporters' buses on the M6 thinking I would be back having my tea before they had even got the M1.

Loads in the early/mid eighties saw virtually no one travelling away to Cobblers games. Key word, virtually - Big Al, Steve Clarke, John White, Wolverton lot, a few more and a couple of us from Leicester, often the full extent... 84 season, Friday night at the Old Show Ground, just two in the large away terrace, half a dozen in the seats. Tranmere (always a Friday night!) saw a completely empty away paddock, again, usual half dozen in the seats...strangely, our mate took a huge Leicester City flag...but was advised not to display it! Chester, Dale, Hartlepool, Mansfield, Bury away, all saw no more than a dozen or so. Swindon away in April (0-2 with Lou Macari reinstated as manager) saw the away contingent swell to around 60-80 in a crowd of 4,400...four or five of us getting a right kicking afterwards, from mostly Stroud based Swindon. Luckily, the OB stopped them from boarding the same train as us back home!

0-0 draw. Vale Park turned fully upside down (in my head!) with hazy memories of Vale invading the pitch at the end...while I spent the majority of the game, gurgling up green stuff on the Hamil away terrace!

Who was it that ran on the pitch and tried to punch the ref at the county ground, late 80’s early 90’s? Think he used to knock about with you Cooly?

Caddy? Spent much of the game calling the Maidstone United keeper (Nicky Johns?) "Oiii, Stig of the Dump". Cobblers win 2-0, Caddy jumps onto the pitch and ruffles said keeper's hair. Keeper punches Caddy and promptly gets sent off...after the whistle! Caddy gets served with one of his many bans from the club!

I remember him running on on the pitch and confronting the ref over an innocuous decision. Next home game it was in the programme he had been banned for life from the County Ground. I think that was 1989 from memory.

Went all the way to Tranmere I think on Tuesday night 85? with big Al in a driving school mini Metro.

Yeah, his name is Nick Cadd. I played football in the same team for a while. Well I say football it was more fun whilst playing football. I think it was the same team that was managed by Marvo. My football career went on to better things after leaving

I know someone who nicked a train once. He did two years inside for that. And a big fine.

1991. Got a reprieve the following season. Some completely unacceptable language at Stadium: MK saw Bartman once again banned for three years or so, a few seasons back!
