It doesn't look as if many reckon the Cobblers will bounce back to L1 with their odds of around 16/1 to win the league. This put us around 10th with Salford favourites yet again at around 5/1.
Even though Bristol Rovers finished bottom of L1 they are second favourites to win this time round, followed by Exeter and Mansfield.

i would suggest this is based on budget .
On that basis , they are not far wrong if a little optimistic .
Itís going to be a tough season .
Northampton Town need a change in ownership if we are to move forward .

Itís all pretty much garbage. At the start of the season just finished Cambridge were 18th in the betting and Morecambe 24th yet both went up. Most teams barely have half a team at the moment. While our current players contracted are generally poor it will be all down to recruitment.

I donít see how expectations could currently be high, with Watson not signed thereís barely any goals in the team with those currently contracted.

Thereís nothing particularly wrong with them and i think a good structure of people is in place on the playing front but you can do nothing without money realistically .
Itís one of the reasons we went down and you need a chance in league 2 as well .
Itís time for someone else to come in , if such a person exists .

Interesting...

Have budgets been announced and made public? Please share.

Or is this just a guess based on absolutely no evidence?

It's just pure speculation by the bookies just to tempt a few early bets, nothing to do with budgets, (some won't have been finalised  yet ) nothing to do with managers or players, it's guess work by the bookies  just to get a few idiots to part with their cash.

We got a 'cheap' promotion and last season was clouded by Curle's pathetic transfer window and Covid. I definitely think we were in for another struggle if we'd escaped the drop but can't see any reason why we shouldn't be well equipped to compete in the bottom. You never really know until the season is underway. Not many teams end up in mid-table obscurity so we'll probably be at one end or the other.
When we smash Sileby and Brackley we'll be piling the bets on!
