It's been a year but The Euros are finally here and Italy face Turkey in the first game tomorrow night. Who's looking forward to Euro 2020 and how far will England go? For me, it's coming home...

This is the least excited I can remember being about a major tournament. My waning interest in the Premier League and European tournaments mean I don't even know half the players anymore (and that includes England!) and I think that's affecting my interest in it all.

When I was playing we used to wear jock straps. What a shame the Turkish goalie decided to go commando. It was so untidy to see his testicles displayed like that

Same, not the slightest interest in any of it despite once being a red blooded English supporter, I'll stick to travelling with the cricket in future. I'm done with being patronised by current and ex footballers who are employed to kick around a ball around yet now seem to have developed some superior intellect. Medical studies suggest heading a ball has the opposite effect. Sick of the new woke and oh so virtuous brigade of commentators. Apparently after 35 years of being a supporter, according to "Chock ice" Rio Ferdinand and "swap the wife for a younger model" Gary Lineker "I'm part of the problem." Watching one game on Sunday, Hartlepool v Stockport.

Not to excited about the football either. Mind you all this fuss about taking the knee is quite a tonic. Grown ups getting so cross about 11 blokes showing support for each other and the fair treatment of everyone was tragic but now it’s more comic. It’s a situation that just keeps giving as well - first time for a long time, I’ve agreed with a Boris announcement - stop booing and support your team. I would amend slightly and say stop booing and spend some time in honest self reflection to understand the real cause of your anger - In most cases, it won’t be what you say it is!

"My three children were born in Northamptonshire so I like to think I'm an adopted Northamptonian and it's the same for Rico and Sammo. It means a lot to us because this is our county.

I think we're straying into absolutism again here - agree with taking the knee = good, disagree with taking the knee = bad. It's really not that simple. When Colin Kaepernick took the knee it was a powerful individual gesture. When other American sports men and women followed suit it was also a deeply symbolic display and I loved seeing it. Somehow along the way, that gesture has been co-opted by Black Lives Matter and at this point is irrevocably linked to them. To make my position absolutely clear on this, I'm not a part of the "all lives matter" brigade. I get the distinction and I agree that black lives matter (the principle). I'm just deeply uncomfortable with Black Lives Matter (the organisation). Their stated aims go way beyond their remit and by adopting their salute of sorts, whether they mean to or not, footballers are implicitly signalling their support for that organisation. At the risk of invoking Godwin's Law, it's a bit like a German player doing a Nazi salute as a goal celebration and then saying "Well, it was a tribute to my grandfather who fought in the war, it's nothing to do with the Nazis" - it wouldn't wash because that gesture is intrinsically and inseparably linked. That's probably a bit of a crass metaphor, but like it or not, adopting a gesture linked to a particular organisation suggests support for that organisation. If football was to come up with its own gesture to symbolise racial equality, be it an arms folded stance or hopping up and down on one leg for all I care, I'd happily applaud it whenever it was taken. I won't applaud a gesture that glorifies a Marxist organisation that wants to see the police defunded, capitalism deconstructed, drugs decriminalised (along with all drugs-based convictions quashed) and, in the past at least, has advocated getting rid of the concept of the nuclear family. That said, I wouldn't boo it either because booing is a blunt instrument that sends the wrong signals and plays into the hands of those who are happy to dismiss any dissenting voices as racists. That's why people get irritated when virtue signallers like Rio Ferdinand and Gary Lineker make pronouncements from their high horses about people "getting educated" because that cuts both ways! I don't doubt that footballers are taking the knee with honest and admirable intentions, I do doubt that many of them realise the full extent of the message that gesture gives.

It's coming home. Wouldn't be an England supporter if I didn't proclaim we are going to win it, only to be bitterly disappointed when we don't.

In fact most of the front players are pretty garbage. The defence have kept us in it at times.

It doesn’t matter when it is or who’s playing, it’s always the same old England.
