The business was sold when the going got tough and it was bailed out by a private equity firm who have spouted typical projections of intent with nothing concrete to show other than a drop in product quality and sales. Meanwhile Solovair, still running from Wollaston, and the original suppliers of the sole incorporated in Dr Martens have taken advantage and whilst still small compared to the behemoth that was Griggs have retained integrity as well as a thriving local enterprise. I have been to the Griggs premises in Wollaston on many occasions and there is no sign of any 'doubling of production' there. You quite obviously regret your exile to Oz as a result of your greed and fear when you obviously retain a yearning for your old life but your loss is our gain, that is written in the sand.
