Many thanks for that, I even got the year wrong! I went on a Lewes forum and they didn't know the score either!

Cobblers won 3-2 at The Dripping Pan Ground. Scorers were Steve Morison 29 mins.,Tom Youngs, 30 mins., and Scott McGleish, 47 mins, before Cuppy and Belgrave replied later. Can provide Cobblers team if you’re interested.

Thanks you for answers. But I was getting confused. So just found the programme again and it was played at the start of the 03/04 season as they show Lewes fixtures for 2003 starting on 16/08. With the result I thought we lost as I remember being very disappointed, but can't remember the score.

Could I please ask, why the interest in this particular fixture? Just curious.

I am recording all my matches that I have been to. Over 1200 games now. I have the programme, but can't remember the score and there is no date in the programme. So can't record the match!

I wasn't - living abroad then but ironically, Lewes is the place in the UK I've never been but want to! Next is Canterbury...Lewes following that! Muddy and Lee Geary were there...hot day I remember from photos and the time!

Perhaps it’s because The Dripping Pan is such an iconic stadium, or that Tom Youngs scored, but some games just leave an indelible mark. Many get misty about Arsenal ‘58 or Fulham ‘66 or that magical moment Dean Peer equalised at Watford, but for me, I’ll always have Lewes.

Appears to be proper supporter; at school in '58 but saw the fateful '66 game. Nightmares ever since . For me it was at Crystal Palace when Holton scored. Stephen Ball quoteThis game was played at Vicarge Road on 6th April 1963. Palace won 4-1 and Cliff`s free kick from the halfway line was his second of three in that match in front of a crowd of 8,496. I watched Cliff score three agaist Palace on his Northampton Town debut on the eveining of 6th Sept. 1961. Rather painful experience as he had only signed for them earlier that day (transfers could be pushed through that quick in those days). The attendance that night was 25,535 not bad for a 4th Div. mid week game. end quote.Quite the best Centre forward or Striker we have ever had.

I understand so many people want to believe we played at Lewes in 2003. These rumours start and you just can’t stop them. The Earth is flat, the Moon landings never happened, and we played Lewes in 2003. As Ryan Amoo states earlier in the thread, the match was on 17 July 2004, and as I stated earlier, we won 3-2. But if you believe otherwise, then fair enough.
