So, for the first time in 18 months some first half thoughts.

Lucky to be up really, their miss was embarassing and goal was a bit of a gift from poor defending. However, did do a few good things including finishing it off which Vale were unable to do.

First time seeing most of these lot, did not expect Connolly to be the one I was most exited to watch. Does have the absolute opposite of close control, but he looks dangerous.

Kabamba will be a fan favourite. Everything we've missed since Oliver. BAS has done ok, and also has done the important thing. Horsfall impressed me a lot in defence to start with, began to get sloppy as the half carried on

Both McGowan and Mills really look like they struggle if theyre up against anyone dangerous. Our centre misfield has done nothing except head tennis, not enough defensively or offensively.

Agreed. Generally impressed with the attacking element of the new boys so far.

We look vulnerable at both left and right back. Mills seems to have a habit of gambling on an interception and countering rather than taking a step back defending. A high risk strategy!

Obviously, it's a game of two halves and it's a marathon not a sprint, BUT

We've got this league in the bag!

Me too. I wish I could say the same for Rose, who has already put in 2 embarassing dives when he could have held the ball up instead.

Same here!

Him and Pinnock look very good.

Connolly also good to watch but needs to put some hours into his ball work!

Let’s ignore the fact we were hanging on against 10 men….

How good did Koiki look when he came on at left wing? Was defensively poor at Cambridge, but looks the business on the wing.

A promising start. I thought Pinnock and Kabamba were excellent. BAS scored the goal which will hopefully give him confidence, but didn't hold the ball up well or put himslf about enough and I wasn't surprised when he was taken off. Defence looked solid and Connolly had some good moments, as did Koike at the end. All in all, a decent performance.

Honestly thought there would be more in attendance, teams like mansfield, and Carlisle having more.

Early days but I can't help thinking with a half decent keeper (like we have now) we actually would have stayed up.

Agreed! Have to caveat it that it was against at tired 10 men, but looked dangerous enough he'd justify a starting place for me next week.

Ball control, skill and speed was outrageous.

A very good option to have!

3 points on the board. And against a team we seem to struggle against. Great start!

Enjoyed the game, after an 8:30 depart from Horsham this AM and lunch in Walter Tull it wax nice to walk out with the 3 points. Frustratingly, the 18:05 from Northampton cancelled because of lack of train crew! Jobsworth staff will not allow us to get on the Rugby bound train without paying extra so now got to wait u til19:05 to start journey hone. Might be home bhh you 22:30, no doubt Everbrite will question the Horsham Vobblers commitment again!!!!

Our new keeper looked really good, confident and came and claimed crosses. 8
McGowan at right back, oh dear he’s so slow, will get mullered against anyone with a winger. 4
Horsfall MoM performance 9 MMOTM
Guthrie looked OK 6
Mills defensively looks vulnerable 6
Pinnock looks classy, pacy 7
Flores oh dear looks poor, see why he was hooked for Shaun.4
Lewis played well put himself around 7
Connolly headless chicken 5
BAS took his goal well and then……was BAS 5
Kabamba looks a good signing, BAS take note of his hold up play 8

Shaun has to start, would like to have seen the Spuds lad.

Only because you bite more times than a Barracuda - any body who travels up from sunny Horsham  ....by Train too, deserves a plaudit or two. Where was the real Horsham the number 1? No doubt will see you at Coventry.
