Definitely the quietest match thread ever. I wondered if my internet was broken.
It doesn’t look as though the goals are going to be free flowing.

We've been saying that since early pre-season......

Rose and Hoskins should have scored.

However, we are still not creating enough changes.

After Cov I thought Etete was going to bag 30 this season  Tongue
We’ve got enough players capable of scoring at this level.

So who is good enough to score at this Level?

BAS, I don’t think so!

Hoskins, without penalty duties, maybe 5 for the season.

Kabamba, not done it previously and seen nothing so far to convince me otherwise.

Rose, possibly 10 if he can recover his previous form.

Etete, remain to be convinced, good start but he’s a youngster and unproven

Offensively we are as weak as we were last season

Offensively we look weaker

I put a fair chunk of money on him being top scorer. I think it’s safe to say that money have been wasted!

But if you mention this then you get the usual clowns berating you and telling you that it's pre season and that sort of thing doesn't matter despite every team that struggles for goals in pre season struggling for goals in real games since the dawn of time

10 from Rose!?

Have you added the zero by mistake?

I did caveat that with ‘ if he can rediscover his historic form’.

Either way we still need another striker and midfielder before window closes

Added a 10 by mistake I think.

We didn’t actually play that bad tonight and I quite enjoyed it. So frustrating to not get it to the shoot out and on first viewing albeit from the North Stand, it was a shocker from Maxted. Central and low. Will need to see it again but imagine he will be feeling very disappointed currently.

We had moments where we looked threatening but slightly worryingly do look pretty easy to play against during open play.

Positives have to be how good Horsfall and Guthrie look together. They didn’t allow Wimbledon a sniff. And that’s why the long range daisy cutter was so frustrating. Connolly played well IMO and Hoskins was lively when he came off. I’m not his biggest fan but have been pretty impressed with his start to the season.

Need a win on Saturday to get going again and it’s certainly a good chance to do so.

Agree on most of that but Connolly looks like a complete headless chicken to me. Quick but zero brain/end product. I predict he'll go on to be touted as one of our worst players in recent history. Pinnock looks decent though.

That was a much improved performance from Saturday and if it wasn’t for sack of spuds Maxted we would have gone to penalties as the better side .
The full backs got forward quite well and we looked more threatening with the ball .
Defensively we were also sound tonight .
We simply do not attack the six yard area enough and no one has a goalscorer instinct . We put plenty of balls across goal tonight and not once was it attacked .
Rose looked abject all game and BAS has so far shown no ability .
Controversially , i would play Hoskins alongside Etete and see how we get on …. cue the abuse ….
Would have liked to seen Pollock come on because i’m not at all sure about Lewis or Flores either …
Connolly and McGowan were much improved on the plus side .

Quite an entertaining free flowing game which unfortunately came to a very disappointing end, I doubt the Wimbledon player can believe he scored with that attempt. All of the defence can be happy with their performances, both centre backs very solid and both full backs had good games.
Flores was clearly blowing when he was replaced and Pinnock was impressive in a more central role, Hoskins also done well when he came on except for getting another silly yellow card (3 in 4 games now).
I can see why Etete was given man of the match but nothing seemed to drop for him and the referee was not buying Roses play acting. Koiki also had a decent game and it might be worth keeping him wide left and moving Pinnock inside.
Too many crosses too close to their keeper and when crosses came in we did not have enough players in the box, no midfielders bursting forward like Watson did. Therefor their 'keeper was largely untroubled and this is where we need to massively improve.

Fingers crossed he can.

5 goals in 50 cobblers appearances doesn’t look great. I bet he’s not cheap to have sitting around either.

BAS came on and never touched the ball….. I think he’s one of the worst players I’ve ever seen.
