See Crawley conceded 6 for the second time in 3 games. Puts our nil into a bit more perspective.

A wins a win!

Amazing what you can achieve with two competent full backs

Was BAS on the pitch at the end? Would have been good to see him take a spot kick.

Meaningless competition but a win is a win, away at a side
who will be up there in L2 too.

A goal and a winning penalty from Pollock should give him
a confidence boost. Would love to see him get some game time
- could develop into the creative spark which we need.

Not a whole win though, only 2 thirds of a win.

The sooner the final of this tournament contains 2 U21 sides the better cos then it will be dead in the water and it can have a well-deserved burial twixt sod and turd.

892 fans (away not confirmed).
Really cant see how this competition can continue with the financial strains teams are already under. It must be a loss maker for all but the last 2-4 teams.
The league cup has already become a reserve team competition for the lower leagues and this is now essentially a squad / academy player competition.

How much more expensive to the club's will a game like this be compared to a behind closed doors friendly?

I was told, a few years ago, that this competition is good, financially, for the club.

With only 2 of the Crawley starting 11 in the team and both playing as make shift full backs this has to go down as a good result considering FGR made fewer changes than us. The worrying fact remains that in 7 games so far this season we have only scored more than 1 goal once.

Interesting to read a number of comments on one of the Villa forums about how Caleb's workrate was exceptional. He played 84 mins versus Wycombe last night and, apparently, caused them no end of problems.

Suspect his seemingly poor workrate with us was therefore down to attitude?
