What I really think is the stadium should not be run by the football club, it simply doesn't work, in fact the stadium is a milestone around the football clubs neck. It really should be a stadium management company on behalf of the council and community to make full use year round.
If the council had the foresight to take full control, spend £30m now (mortgaged) and develop it further to a superb 25,000 (this was the minimum capacity requirement for European rugby fixtures prior to covid) They could quite easily charge the two guaranteed tenants £50-100k per match depending on attendance and easily make the repayments.
I say two tenants as given a European standard stadium on their doorstep with the correct facilities at a fantastic rent, The Saints would sell in a flash and bank the cash.
Sixfields, could and should be a huge civic asset of a stadium used for endless events for the Northamptonshire public if professionally managed, with 24/7 facilities to generate profit.
