Today is the 60th anniversary of my first ever Cobblers match, the Cobblers goals came from Cliff Holton(2), Barry Lines(2) and Pat Terry. I thought all the matches would be like that and for my first 4 years most of them were !! I caught the Yorks bus from Wollaston, when the driver and conductor used to go in the Nags Head for a quick pint, as they had 15 minutes before heading to town !!. I went with a group of lads, the oldest was about 14, we used to get off the bus at the Grammar School and walk up to the County Ground, it cost 6d to get in with a 3d extra transfer to the Cricket Side and we sat on the planks on top of the beer crates at the front about 2 yards from the touchline. After the match it was back down to the Grammar School for the bus home which was absolutely packed with Christmas shoppers but Yorks never left anyone behind ! That was it, I was hooked.

Congratulations Roger...a milestone achievement that I will hope to reach in another three years, although I probably will not be anywhere near the amount of Cobblers games attended, due to my dispersed locations and availability over the years. To quote Eric Morecambe: "Keep going, you fool"...

Not only is Charlie Goode a regular top division player now but he has also brought into NTFC more wonga than any other player in histoire yet our erstwhile admin folk have banished his thread from le forum. Absolute king self-abusers they are.
