He needs to find his level - where he can score goals on an acceptably regular basis and build back from there.

I'm all for giving players second chances.
I've seen more in his game this season but clearly JB doesn't fancy him or he's a really bad trainer with a bad attitude. If that's the case he needs to get himself sorted quickly otherwise his football career could be over before it's even started.

Only seen him a couple of times, but I got the strong impression using boots with longer studs could be transformative. Could it be that simple?

I think that we basically have 3 forwards who have been signed to play the same role - Etete, Kabamba and BAS. Etete is clearly the best and the others have not lived up to expectations. Admittedly, neither of them have been convincing in the hold-up role, but as potential goalscorers, you can only judge them once we're creating regular goalscoring opportunities. That has only started happening this season in the last few games and was also rare last season, so perhaps we need to give both players a bit more time to see if they start scoring goals if we consistently create chances.
I think Kabamba might still be OK and maybe even BAS. I certainly don't think they're much worse (if at all) than Harry Smith, who I've never really rated, and he seems to be netting frequently this year. At this level it's quite possible that it's partially a question of how many goalscoring opportunities come your way when you're playing. Sooner or later some will go in. BAS has probably had as many goalscoring chances in his whole career at the Cobblers as Etete has had so far this season, and Kababmba has had significantly fewer.
Having said that, if JB doesn't want 3 forwards for one role, then I imagine BAS will be the one to go in January.

Taking his opportunities seems to be the best part of his game. Standing in his feet and winning 50/50 balls be struggles with.

Don't rate either BAS or Kabamba, yet I'd put BAS above Kabamba in the pecking order...Kabamba never looks remotely like scoring & his record was woeful at his other clubs too
Still can't believe we gave both 2 year contracts!

He scored today against Boro, we still lost 3-1 though. Sounds familiar
