Mansfield have a trip to Hartlepool on Tuesday night and at the moment they are just scraping wins, perhaps Hartlepool can do us a favour. Our record at Mansfield is not good and they have won all of their last 10 home games so time that run came to an end. If we can come away unbeaten it will give us confidence for the final 6 games.

Where are you? And who is the heavy in your place?

Hi Evers, yes we have been awol for the last 2 games. We have a trip abroad starting next weekend (3rd attempt as the previous 2 years we have been unable to go because of covid) and we decided to minimise our risk this time by staying away from crowds for the 2 weeks before we left. As much as I dislike missing games our trip means that we will also miss the next 2 but will be back in time for Exeter. Not sure who is in our seats but my daughter has given permission for somebody she knows to use her 2.

If there is the new manager bounce as people suggest perhaps we should sack Brady to get us over the line

Just kidding.

Hoping Hartlepool and Crawley win tonight. Salford two games in hand can get to within 4 points of us and they're in 11th!

If we have any designs on the autos then Salford don’t matter.

Saturday is the biggest game since last Saturday. Could be a painful swing and we’ll do well to come away with something.

Salford are still well in it for me, they would need to go on a good run till the end of the season but with the inconsistency of pretty much all the teams at the top I can see most dropping a good few points.

Two in two minutes gets them back level...fair play!

The "live" table now sees five teams all on 63 points, with two more teams just two points further back...... seven teams, two points! Madness!

A last minute 1 on 1 missed for Hartlepool. How he didn’t score I will never know. Danced round three players to leave himself with only the keeper to beat from near the penalty spot.

Bold prediction time. If we win on Saturday I reckon we’ll finish 3rd, a draw 6th and lose 10th  Grin

It's in our own hands now due to how the fixtures fall with some of the top 7 to play each other. Just the 7 wins on the spin needed....

I think it was in 1999/2000 we won our final six games to secure promotion. Anything is possible.

So, we slip out of the top three as we were the only side in the top 11 to lose.

Port Vale go third above us on goal difference but with a game in hand. Mansfield join us on 66 points and have two games in hand. Bristol Rovers also have 66 points. Tranmere got pegged back at home to Carlisle and slip to 7th on 64 points. Newport three points behind us and now Salford are only four behind with a game in hand. Sutton, 2nd a few weeks ago are now down to 11th ahead of their Papa Johns Trophy Final tomorrow.

Big games on Tuesday night....

Forest Green Rovers  v  Mansfield Town
Salford City Port Vale

And on Saturday....

Carlisle United  v  Exeter City
Forest Green Rovers  v  Hartlepool United
Northampton Town  v  Bradford City
Port Vale  v  Oldham Athletic
Salford City  v  Harrogate Town
Scunhorpe United  v  Mansfield Town
Sutton United  v  Leyton Orient
Swindon Town  v  Newport County
Tranmere Rovers  v Bristol Rovers

I think you call that almost a ‘perfect storm’.
The results couldn’t have been much worse (obviously 9 man Tranmere getting a point - could save us and I guess if Swindon had won) but we’ve been lucky and it was bound to happen. We haven’t looked like a top 3 side throughout.
It’s not looking too rosy even for the play offs at the moment, certainly a lot of work still to do to stay in them. Even so, it doesn’t look like anyone is capable for stringing multiple wins together, so it’s all up for grabs. We won’t grab anything if we can’t score! We certainly need a storming run in now to have any designs on the autos, which could all but slip away over the next couple of games. Tough one up next.

I jokingly said 10th if we lost today  Roll Eyes

We need some bouncebackability….let Sutton be a lesson!
