Once again the defense won us the 3pts. Hard battle in midfield with Williams and Sowerby doing ok, McGowan and Koiki where effective in the 3-5-2, the Guy marking McG was a dirty saod and no surprise McG was injured. Guthrie was magnificent as was the support; loud and proud  Cool
New striker did well overall didn’t see his goal! Saw very little of him 2nd half but given a decent pass he certainly goes for it. Defin an asset. Big chap as well. Pinnock was in and out at times!. Would have thought a speedy right winger would have been useful. Typical Cobblers win in difficult conditions , cold wet and blustery! I would be very surprised if this team with current personnel play the ‘bums of seats’ style a few misguided souls on here so wish for! We haven’t got the personnel at the moment.

However our attack lacked purpose in the second half; taking into account the conditions the midfield and defense overall did the job well and saw the game out rather professionally! Just imagine this thread if we had conceded or worse in the dying stages; the usual suspects will surface with their grim discouraging comments. Again thanks to good management with the players at his disposal JB garnered 3 points against a side desperate for points.

The thing about creativity is that good and useful players cost money, seems to me we might well be lucky to get Bez, Magliore and Appéré. If Appéré was lucky to get his goal then I am all for a lucky striker as luck has by and large deserted most of them.

Appéré was born in Scotland went to a Scottish School and is of French descent, and holds both passports.
