All seems to have gone a bit flat - but hoping they can hold on to this one. Don't seem to be under too much stress - according to the railway coverage. Come on the Cobblers. Last time we won at the Bescot/Banks's Bayo scored twice - could with some of the big man's inspiration now.

Could do with holding on for some 7 point play off insurance.

Why does McWilliams always feel the need to get booked?
Last two have been for running his mouth.
Might be worth checking his betting account!

A big win. Defended well, Roberts with a few vital saves against his former club.
Certainly not the bums off seats football we were promised.
The new guy looked good up against 80 yard long balls.

Still need to work on attack/ creating chances. We won ugly today, and defended well. Lost possession easy as well today. Hope it will get sorted out.

Once again the defense won us the 3pts. Hard battle in midfield with Williams and Sowerby doing ok, McGowan and Koiki where effective in the 3-5-2, the Guy marking McG was a dirty s aod and no surprise McG was injured. Guthrie was magnificent as was the support; loud and proud New striker did well overall didn’t see his goal! Saw very little of him 2nd half but given a decent pass he certainly goes for it. Defin an asset. Big chap as well. Pinnock was in and out at times!. Would have thought a speedy right winger would have been useful. Typical Cobblers win in difficult conditions , cold wet and blustery! I would be very surprised if this team with current personnel play the ‘bums of seats’ style a few misguided souls on here so wish for! We haven’t got the personnel at the moment. However our attack lacked purpose in the second half; taking into account the conditions the midfield and defense overall did the job well and saw the game out rather professionally! Just imagine this thread if we had conceded or worse in the dying stages; the usual suspects will surface with their grim discouraging comments. Again thanks to good management with the players at his disposal JB garnered 3 points against a side desperate for points. The thing about creativity is that good and useful players cost money, seems to me we might well be lucky to get Bez, Magliore and Appéré. If Appéré was lucky to get his goal then I am all for a lucky striker as luck has by and large deserted most of them. Appéré was born in Scotland went to a Scottish School and is of French descent, and holds both passports.

Great result and at times a decent performance. But if we are going to push for the autos we need to up our game.
At times the lads at the back really struggle for an outlet, leading to them coming under pressure unnecessarily. I wish the midfield would look for the ball rather than just steaming off into the distance. I’m sure this probably stems from them assuming they are going to be bypassed. This in addition to the awful service to the front line means goals are as rare as hens teeth. Appéré looked really lively, with a great work rate, but he must have been desperate just for one decent ball.
I really don’t want to get on Brady’s back. Especially after a win. But he does seem to be getting more and more route one than he was when he first come in. Anyway…. If we can build on today’s result I promise I will hold my hands up and say fair play to Brady and Calderwood.

Seen the same sort of sentiment echoed elsewhere, delighted to win but the performances are still rather ropey. It seems like this is who we are this season, I keep expecting a change to occur but I cant see it happening between now and May. Lets hope we can continue to secure the 1-0 wins. I guess that is the next evolution for the team.
Great away support and noise it has to be noted. Think the defence and Roberts were excellent once again. Magloire was solid and picked out a few passes also, gives us the extra pace on the right side which cant harm us at all. Appere was full of running and didnt give away many cheap fouls when doing so, strong debut considering he was feeding on scraps.
Lets hope we can be a bit more calm and composed on the ball as the new signings get more and more involved.
Newport will be a big test, onwards and upwards, up the TEYN!
