Pretty poor attendance as usual, cobblers to be fair. How can a town of 300k+ only muster 400 fans? What really troubles me is that a mouse in the osmond stand farted yet managed to make more noise than your travelling hordes (LOL). **** team **** fans, thank fûck east Northants contains ‘better quality’, I.e not born in Northants loud mouthed no marks. 300k +, where did you get that from? The last I heard it was estimated at about 247k. We took 41k to Wembley when we played your lot, and if we ever had the investment in a decent team and stadium I am convinced we would get 25k home crowds on a regular basis.

Reasonable day out. Great record shop in Louth. Not a great performance on the pitch although another great finish from super Sam. Previous, alleged Grimsby poster, obviously not at the game as Cobblers fans were far louder and vociferous than Grimsby most of the game and certainly seemed more than the 500 stated. Lovely fish and chips on Cleethorpes seafront after the game.

Seeing as it was reported we'd sold 500 tickets in midweek the figure of 495 was low......but then there was only one turnstile open at the away end and most Cobblers fans seemed to get let in through the exit gates by the stewards once they had ripped the stubs off the tickets.
Fish, chips and mushy peas for £7.49 and a bag of seaside donuts for dessert......

Pink is really not the desired look. A point was the best we could hope for with that display. Custer comes to mind. Lubbly lunch though.

Given the dire football served up week in week out, I’d say 400 out of 300k is pretty impressive.

Thought it was a scrappy affair really it was only after you scored we had a go.
Looked like more than 500 from you and there definitely wasn't 1000 empty seats overall.
Still thinking you will be up there, that game just reaffirms it really - don't play particularly well but take a point.

Hope we learn something from your game management to, the time wasting /players going down took the sting out of us, we need to do it when required but never seem to don't know whether that's a personal manager thing or not really

There were lots of us who didn't go through the only ticket turnstile open, a steward just looked at our tickets then let us through the large gate. "500 sold" plus the many walk ups that I saw, would have increased that significantly. Therefore I was surprised when only 495 was announced, I thought that at least, if not more than 650-700. Plus it was disappointing to find that all home supporters were given a complimentary free programme with their ticket, whereas we had to pay £3 for each!

People of limited intelligence have to put a label on everything.
Yes. I find the Remoaners, Woke brigade and on the other side, the Gammon the würst! So the Happy Wok from all this is... yesterday we were utter garbage?

I only have the commentary from Radio Northampton and summariser Martin Smith's views (still the best summariser they use) to form an opinion but it appeared to be a match of low quality heading for a 0-0 draw. MS thought in the first half Hoskins and Pinnock were playing too high up the pitch, our midfield had no control (McWilliams hardly had a mention) and the ball was not sticking up front. Not surprising then when JB brought Bowie on at half time who seemed to have a decent second half and provided the assist for Sam's well taken goal from an acute angle. Appere has made a slow start to the season and although people seem to love Hylton's winding up tactics perhaps he should concentrate more on the game as he did not appear to contribute much and it was not a surprise when he was subbed. Our goal seemed to spark a previous non threatening Grimsby into life and we were on the back foot and it came as no surprise when they equalised. Burge had to make a couple of good saves and Leonard a goal line clearance otherwise we could have left empty handed. We need to tighten up at the back and it is a concern that they had 23 shots at our goal. On Tuesday night I expect JB will make a few changes for the cup match and Bowie, Fox, Haynes, Leonard and Maxted could all start.

Just been taking a look at the Grimsby forum and lots of posts slating the rookie referee, was he that bad?.
We must have learned something from Colchester as many criticise us for constantly throwing ourselves to the ground.
A lot of appreciation for Sam's superbly taken goal.

The constant moaning about referees which fans of all League 2 teams do, and the cheating by players of all teams iin League 2 is boring. If players stopped the diving at the slightest touch it would make the game a lot easier to referee. Fans moan if all decisions don't go their way. I see fans winding themselves up, shouting that the ref had lost, when it actually the fans the have lost control of themselves. I just want to watch a game of football without all this rubbish.

I agree. You see players throwing themselves to the ground all the time, it happens at every single game up and down the country. It's even worse on the TV as the commentators seem to condone it with comments such as 'he's too honest', it's a real wind up. For us last season it was Danny Rose, this season it looks like it might be Danny Hylton, so when you're a Danny maybe it comes with the job.

I wish the main commentator would stop calling him Smudger. It's embarrassing.

Exactly. And it's amazing how many don't know the rules in the first place.

"Main commentator" - that's our Tim Oglethorpe. Surely you've heard of Tim?
