Interesting to see Dyche as captain ahead of seniors like Fox, Haynes and Maxted.

Good to see JB has taken my advice, later in the week he will probably contact me for Saturdays team.

Dadge is the only one on the bench I have heard of and he's never played. A sensible team selection in view of the injuries but if Cambridge field a strong squad it could be another Ipswich.

At least getting your money's worth with goalmouth action so far for that faithful who turned up.
Not for me though, just I-Follow tonight.

23' Substitution, Northampton Town. Kai O'Keeffe replaces Josh Felix-Eppiah because of an injury.

Fùcking brilliant.

are you watching? Casey saying didn't look injured. Really hope not but strange decision if not. Except to give him a bit more time and get around the rules a but. i.e first 20 mins instead of last 20 mins

He will be ok for another cameo on Saturday I think the plan was to give him 20-25 minutes tonight as we gradually build up his minutes.

Yeah, he wasn't in any trouble getting off, more likely to be to make sure we hit the qualifying rules for the Trophy and give him a few more minutes in his legs.

Momentum started to swing to Cambridge after Eppiah was withdrawn, maybe not entirely surprising considering it's all youth but two out there now. Impressed with both Cross and Ngwa in little bits and pieces, can see why they were on the fringes of the team, but aren't quite calm enough in their final decisions. They've all kept their own though, so long may that continue.

Though Cambridge spurned two chances themselves, look like the offside was a poor decision. Leftback playing him on.

Listening to the away commentary for a change of pace, and the commentary distractingly calls Cambridge the 'Ooohs' all the time for some reason.

I agree the young team did really well. I thought the four you mentioned plus Abimbola were most impressive.

JB has also confirmed Eppiah is not injured he was only going to play him for 20 minutes max and they are still waiting for scan results for McWilliams & Magloire. He didn't comment about the other injuries but was asked, basically saying it's still early in the week.

That’s a fair report. We had no regular 1st team players selected or even on bench! Cambridge with Jones at Centre half pretty much controlled the first half. As far as I could make out they had at least 4 first team players in the eleven which included Jones  and Ironside who was replaced by Knibbs. Also for them, Smith came on as well. First half we did pretty well with Maxted playing very well. Eppiah went off after 22mins probably a game plan for more mins! Itsme is right in singling out 4 abovr, not quite so sure on Cross who for me looked a bit light weight! Second half more or less went like the first half a lot of pressure soaked up by well marshalled defence held together by Dyche. After 65mins Cambridge had enough and brought on further two more 1st players and following a set piece and goal mouth scramble scored. A second followed in the dying minutes but by then we had replaced Fox (45 min) and Lintott. In fact anybody likely to be involved in the squad Saturday were withdrawn. Under the circumstances you could not grumble at the result as for the last 25mins it was the youth team out there aided by the admirable Maxted who in my opinion played well.
