I was unfortunate enough to witness the worst....and most biased referring display....I have ever seen when Howard Webb took charge of our game at the Racecourse Ground roughly 8-10 years ago. It was when Broadhurst was in charge (I think) , we lost 3-2. 3 penalties he gave them and sent James Hunt off. But in addition to the other big decisions....he was truly shocking.

In all my time of watching the Cobblers I can only really say that Webb, Crossley, Fitzharris and Rennie had such memorable performances. Ones that you will never forget. I just cannot believe that he is now deemed as 'the best referree in the world'! When we were all scrambling in front of the fences behind that goal like de-caged animals, who would have thought that 10 years later he would be in charge of the biggest match in the world? Unbelievable  Grin Grin

Well you have to practice somewhere don't you.

I'm trying to decide whether to be impressed or feel sorry for you that you can remember so much detail. Grin

Barring any Dutch or Spanish refs of course!

I must say from the matches I have seen our Prem refs aren't as bad as we all think compared to some of them.

Don'r forget Paul Danson, he was a total clown.

Clarkson broke his leg, oh let's wave play on and have a joke with Lee Thorpe afterwards...

Looking at the standard of refs in the World Cup i don't think ours are actually that bad either.
