Starting line-up of Dunn, Harris, Holt, Beckwith, Hall, Thornton, Wedderburn, Osman, Davis, McKay and Purcell. Nine on the bench so no entire switchover at half time like on Saturday.

Harris at right back?

Was thinking this as well. He's much more suited to centre-back because in a league like ours, 90% of the attacks seem to start with a long punt up field and seeing as his heading and positioning are good he can deal with those no problem, as demonstrated at Buckby on Saturday. Not sure how he'll do up against a pacy winger keeping the ball on the deck though...

Super Kev .........

But also looking at the starting line up with the exception of Harris at RB that could be pretty much his starting line up for Torquay.
Only a new RB, Target man and maybe Gilligan who you would expect to break into that 11

Thornton played in the middle alongside Wedderburn, more a diamond pattern.  Davis down the right first half.  harris got skinned twice at full back, but he was probably MotM, won everything in the air.  McKay very sharp, Purcell off the game, perhaps trying too hard.  Very impressed with Jacobs when he came on, and Kasibungu (?).  konstantinou unlucky with a detf chip that hit the bar.  ut we failed to create much by way of clear cut chances.

Think that was pretty much to be expected. Hope Sammo has a new right back in, at least on trial, by the next game and Harris gets his chance in the centre, because he's much more likely to win an aerial battle against a big centre forward than a race against a nippy winger.

By the way the lad's name that you referred to is Kaziboni, and I thought he was impressive against Buckby too. How did Death play, or did he not come on?

If it was a diamond formation then who played in the Left Mid and AMC positions?

Good question re left mid.  I was very surprised to see Davis start on the right.  Wedderburn  looked very much a left footer, but drifted into the middle of the park, charging around like a bit of a rhino, not exactly the most elegant player I've seen.  If he's that big when he;'s 18 then he'll out muscle Bayo by the time he's 21.  He came off with what looked like quite a bad injury.  As for AMC, perhaps you can translate?  Is that like an inside left or inside right in old money?

What the goal machine and all time Darlington football club scoring sensation that is Tadgh Purcell failed to score for the second game running. Something clearly isnt right here, a proven campaigner hhhhmm...take him back, he's faulty.  Wink

I thought seb did fairly well at right back as mentioned before he did get skinned a couple of times but he did recover and put good blocks in, agree he is more suited to play centre back, thornton seems to have lost a bit of weight and looks fitter than last season, i hope herbert is okay he took a bad knock in penalty area

Herbert was like a headless chicken, he definitely needs to be farmed out to a conference team to learn some football craft.  I'm a little confused by some of the subs, the tannoy was crap.  20 was definitely not McCready, so who was he?  And was that Death who came on at full back right at the death?  The other puzzler for me was Osman, he's on a week-to-week so presumably could walk the Thursday before the big kick off given our form in recent seasons in this regard so why start with him?  The Cobbs fans in the stand seemed to think he had a good game, and while I agree he got a lot of tackles in he rarely won the ball and when he did promptly gave possession away again.  I counted two passes all game, while Wedderburn was very accurate and seems a similar type of player.

20 was Farquarhson (sp) and 22 was Kaziboni.

The most pleasing thing is how we seem to be preparing for like without Bayo; I don't remember us hoofing it all night.

An AMC is abbreviation for Attacking Midfielder Centre, I think thats an inside forward - I play too much football manager...

AMC= attacking midfielder (central), ie "in the hole", at the front of the diamond.
