Judging by a few years ago - if you want to get a few autographs your best bet is The Palace. I remember almost exclaiming out loud 'holy s**#t is that really Jason Crowe sharing a lift with me??!' Mind you, I'm sure he thought the same about me. Quite the exciting experience.
But yeah, if you wanna treat the GF I'd say there's nowhere better - but it's a bit of a hitch from the seafront.

I live 5 miles from Torquay and work there...if anyone has any specific questions i would be more than happy to help.
Am made up that we have them the first game of the season because normally i play football on Saturdays!!

There is a Premier Travel Inn on the sea front at both Torquay & Paignton. They are not as cheap as most PTI's. But they are both in a prime locations on the sea front. Unfortunately you can't specify sea views either with PTI's. There is also a Travelodge in Torquay, but it's set a long way from the sea front.
If you really want to treat the wife I recommend The Imperial. The Palace, Or the Livermead House. Avoid the Grand Hotel. The food at the Livermead House is some of the best around.
If you want a bargain. I would go for the Sandpiper B&B. Lovely owners, and a top breakfast. Tidy as well.

BTW. Babbacombe has some nice hotels. And it's much nearer the ground. Just a short walk away.
I just read on offy site that Sixfields Travel club are stopping off at Babbacombe.

I'll ask a quick question if you don't mind... There's about 18 of us going down Torquay for this game as it's doubling up as one of our's stag do..... Most of the group are in their mid 30's so what nightspots would you recommend for us? We can't be done with any of this modern music rubbish

I'm staying at the Richwood. I've no idea how good it is but it has a heated swimming pool and is near the beach so that'll have to do.
