I'll ask a quick question if you don't mind...

There's about 18 of us going down Torquay for this game as it's doubling up as one of our's stag do.....

Most of the group are in their mid 30's so what nightspots would you recommend for us? We can't be done with any of this modern music rubbish  Wink

Most places on the sea front are RnB clubs etc.......there is Woodys which is a strip bar (v. near the clock tower)
Or try Valbonnes for very drunk people your age!!

Its a tourist town so a ridiculous amount of pubs and bars to drink in before!

Sounds like you need the two floor joint...sorry club that everyone seemed to end up at after the glorious promotion back in 2000...sufficiently cheesy..just can't remember which way the taxi took us! Grin

I remember ending up in 'Club Rainbow' I think it was called. Rammed with Cobblers fans...and yes, very cheesy! That night was one of the most surreal night outs I have ever had, every pub I went into I saw random people I knew and we were over 200 miles away!

Was defo a surreal night..ended up losing everyone I was with..or they lost me! Grin...met some random Cobblers lad..taxi to random club (Rainbow? maybe!)...ended up at 4am with my mate at a converted church club that was open till 7am or something...and a (very!) random Exeter City bloke (they'd played Shrews) offering us work in Bermuda at Rod Stewart's home...Declined offer and was in Latvia on the Monday..for eight years...defo surreal!

We got our own room it won't bother me at 6 o'clock when I stroll in, I'll be too busy necking coffee trying to sober up for the drive home. As long as I can find a cafe doing sausages, hash browns and some scrambled eggs I'll be happy enough

How far is the train station away from Plainmoor?
Tore station is the closest of the 2 stations but still a fair old walk, you best bet is to go to the main station & walk in to the town center about 20 mins walk, there you can get either bus that runs up to plainmoor or the Exeter bus that runs via Teignmouth & goes through Babacombe which is only a short walk to the ground

That was opposite our hotel, which was next to the one the players used for their overnight stay.

Seem to remember that there was a bar that was left unattended so we helped ourselves to some beer and then a rousing rendition of Sweet Caroline.

Hangover, sore throat, no voice and a football lost at sea on the sunday!!!
