What inside knowledge?

You know...the knowledge that someone who had been one of our playing staff a few days before the game would have about our players and tactics? Roll Eyes

Give me one example of Guinan knowing anything about our players and tactics all season.

Guinan has been training with our players every day and in the line-up alongside them on many occasions too. He will know all of their strengths and all of their limitations. Likewise, he's having Sammo's tactics drilled into him every day so he'll be fully aware of those as well.

Any chance he could pass that information on to Sampson and Crosby?

I don't think they'll need that much to figure us out to be honest. As long as they bully McKay and mark Thornton out of the game we're f***ed anyway.  Grin

Well he never demonstrated that awareness on the pitch!

Listening on the radio on saturday it appears that the Hereford fans would like Guinan back in a coaching capacity.

Personally don't rate him as a player but some of the abuse he gets is unjustified- top bloke apparently and his little antics in front of the Kop with Thornton, Jacobs and Wedderburn have written him into Cobblers fokelore.

Agree wholeheartedly with this.

I can understand this  Smiley

I'm sure he is a good pro, all be it a journeyman, who will have a continued career in the game in a coaching capacity.....

a win win option , but after we`ve played them at the weekend obviously.....

THEN SURELY WE WILL GET A STRIKER / TARGET MAN IN who can cut it at this vaulted level.

This has just been tweeted by Jefferson Lake

"@JeffersonLake MASSIVE #ntfc transfer story coming in tomorrow's @Chronandecho. It involves a striker and CASH"

Could this be the news were all waiting for?

But we're outside the transfer window aren't we? I thought it was free transfers only.

They still cost money. Just signing on fees rather than transfer fees. Alternatively, we may be receiving a bit of cash for one of our strikers. It's no coincidence this has been brought up in the "Guinan to Hereford" thread.

We are getting someone in who is out of contract and are being bought by Hicks and Glazer?  Tongue

If Guinan was to go to Hereford as a Manager then i would suspect they would need to pay compensation to us, just as if any other manager leaves midway through his contract to take up a role at another club.

I'm not sure Hereford will want to pay for someone who is affectively transfer listed and can leave for free.

He can't leave for free. He's still contracted to us and just because he's on the transfer list doesn't mean we have to let him go. As the transfer window was drawing to a close Sammo was discussing taking him off the transfer list, or at least considering offers for him more carefully. If Hereford do want him, we'll be expecting some compensation.

If we don't want him and he wants to join Hereford, surely they can just terminate the contraact so everybody is happy. The club can't honestly think we'll get any money for Guinan can they??
