One of me old favourites.

I can recall going to Glastobury in the early eighties, parking in the upper fields, as below was a swamp, getting soaked, half a mile walk, in the dark, up the hill, having had a few beers, just crash in the tent. What I didnt realise, was that 40 foot truck, curtainside, had Hawkwind on board. And it was just in front of my tent. At about 23.00. there was some choice words being used, I hate Hawkwind very much so, when you are in front of my tent. And I dont recall other people giving them a round of applause either.

I saw them headlining, Saturday night, pyramid stage, 1981 and they were excellent. Seen them at least 80 odd times since, no exaggeration. Why do you hate them very much so? Which field were you in? How come your tent was right in front of a makeshift stage? Are you sure it was Hawkwind, I know they did a few free gigs in the travellers field early 80s. Anyway, what did you think of The Oh Sees?

I hate them because its just a tuneless noise. What field I was in I cannot answer because I didnt realise they had names, my tent was not in front of a stage, when we left there was nothing there, when we got back there was a 40 foot trailer parked there with a generator. I know it was them because my mate was going mad, and later got to meet some dude called Hugh.
I think it was 1984, but im not sure.
And I have no idea about "the Oh Sees" never heard of them/it.

Fair enough, each to their own, but have you actually listened to the track I posted? Certainly not a tuneless noise, or any of their albums? Especially 70’s era. The Oh Sees are the band on the first 2 videos I posted at the top of this page.

Shoemender, thanks for posting the Oh Sees. New to me coz I'm an out of touch old git now. I will being listening to more of them now.

Strange that I never saw Hawkwind live as they toured several times with Man who I saw loads of.
When Man split in '76 it was rumoured that Micky Jones was joining Hawkwind, but he told us it wouldn't work pairing him with "three chord Dave Brock"!

Man, another of me old favourites. Best album, Be Good to Yourself, with 3 of their best tracks; C’mon, Keep on Crinting and of course Bananas. Back into the Future’s pretty great too. Never heard the Micky Jones rumour though, might have worked.

Must be an age thing but I am rediscovering long lost tracks from my yoof. This was great and still is.

A more recently discovered treat. I think they’re having a laugh with the HD bit though.
