Welcome, Grin I was pointing out to those who may have mistakenly thought that this was about Northampton Town Youth playing Rushden and Diamonds youth that this couldn't be further from the truth as AFC RD has bog all to do with the deceased club dimlows fc. Wink

Well 'bog all' is wrong, but you are right in saying that it's not the same club.

It is is different entity and plays at a different place, but represents the same area and has some of the same supporters. Do with that information what you will - I've not registered on here to argue about what AFC is and isn't, I just wanted to let you know about the game is all.

The OP wrote the title of the thread incorrectly as Northampton Town NFA side are the county side not NTFC.

Where are you getting that from?

1/ Why would the NFA let the county representative team enter the county cup and what would be the point?

2/ 3 players from AFC R&D are in the county side and none of them are anything to do with NTFC.

3/ I have heard a direct quote from someone within the NTFC youth set up saying that it is the official youth team as 'there is no-one else'.

4/ It is on the official NTFC website that the youth team are playing AFC R&D.

So I don't know where you are getting your information from but to my knowledge you are incorrect. If I am wrong, then I apologise... but I'm pretty sure that I'm not.

Just read that Rushden and Higham are riding high in the UCL with Aidy Mann at the helm, Someone must surly put his name into the hat as possible new manager!

AFC Rushden are an under 18 Team who play in Raunds.
They are NOT the main team in Rushden, or Raunds, even at Under 18 Level.
Yes, they play in Raunds. Hayden Road may offer them too much history, and we all know they don't like that. - They like to get to about 10 years worth of history, and then start again. They'll be playing at Stanwick Rec as of 2021  Grin

I must say, being from that area myself, the old R&DFC were never thought of as "representing the area". I can't remember them ever doing too much in the community outside of Rushden and Irthlingborough.

Whatever, I don't particularly wish them well.
