What canvassing and research have you done to establish the appetite and likelihood of success regarding that proposal.
What canvassing have you done to establish that they wonít 😉

Donít give me that old chestnut. None, the burden of proof is with the proposal otherwise itís dead in the water, as you well know.

To be fair to Melly, he isn't the one putting forward the proposal?

Yep, simple question what reaction have you had to it? If itís none then itís none, but without being too unkind that just comes across as pulling figures out of your ar5e because you are too scared of what the answer might be. Imagine how much more powerful it would be if you could identify how many people would respond positively to it. Iíll tell you right now, in the event it was a fan owned not for profit club Iíd chuck in $20 a month to be a member. Howís that?

At this stage, with our own fans, very little

But it has been done / being done, off the top of my head at Plymouth, Exeter, Hearts, & Stevenage for a start.

Plymouth supporters raised £1.4m for their supporters bar.

Hearts raised £15m !!! (yes i know they are bigger)

What is the alternative?  Stick with developer owners?  always on the edge of them pulling the plug and it all comes crashing down, with no progress off or on the pitch?

FFS Derek go and find out. Instead of guessing and talking off the top of your head try and get an indication of what you might be working with. Given the average attendance I reckon if 40% of respondents do so  positively then you are about bang on the money. Even if itís only 10% then at least you know what you may be working with? Who knows it may even be more than 40%. You criticise the owners for doing a half arsed job of doing things and then do it yourself. The alternative my friend is that you take a leap of faith blindfolded and you go down the tubes and take the club with it. At least go into it with your eyes wide open. If itís unrealistic fine, drop it and try something else. Go and do some research and create some momentum, you may end up in a better position than you imagine. To reiterate, count me in.

I wouldn't sign up to a regular payment whether private owned or fan owned if it was just a generic payment.
I would pay towards raising money for supporters bar, fan village, something tangible

Melly, calm down mate  Grin

This is the early stages, I AM doing research, what do you think putting it out on here is doing for a start.

You lot say take action, no plans etc, then as soon as we start suggesting things we get slagged off for not doing it quick or big enough.

Please all I ask is cut us some slack

KT has had in excess of £30m coming through he fingers to do more or better, I have not used 1p so far on the presentation and research I have done / doing

But I really do appreciate your support and encouragement (honest) Might try and get you up to $40 Aus dollars  Grin

Hi Woody

Thanks for your reply and support of the idea

No I totally understand, I think the plan would be something more specific. IF and i mean IF, we were fan owned, then possibly a players fund would be the only thing I think that fans would be interested in as more generic. (But Melly we would ask and research  Smiley)

Come on you others, would you be willing to get more involved and contribute to a big idea for a small regular cost?

It's a bit puzzling that some people expect the Trust to go to potential investors when there are no figures available as to what might be needed. Previously KT was asking for between £3M and £5M but no one is going to touch that with a bargepole, a bit like KT when NBC said they wanted their £10M back so he walked away.
Realistically NTFC is worth what KT paid for it, £1, it has no assets and a lot of debt, if KT/DB wrote off their loans they would be plenty of interest and they would only be £200K down when you take the £6.8M Chinese money.
There are, at the moment, 10 League 1 clubs and 17 clubs in League 2 with a smaller average attendance than us, they haven't all got benefactors and they all don't lose £1M per year. So what are these 27 clubs doing that NTFC aren't ?
We ran at a break even capacity under DC for a couple of years so it is possible to do it.

I think like anything of this nature, if a call goes up to contribute an extra amount (£20) per month, there will be far fewer people who immediately sign up for it, or even the idea of it, than would be required to make a decent stab of things. A record rarely goes straight in at number one in the charts does it? It will likely take a while before the idea grips the majority through terrace talk, social media, peer pressure, and on field performance (so maybe we need to go 'phoenix' first in order to climb through up leagues and gaining momentum as we do?).
As it happens I've regarded the purchase of my season ticket over the years as exactly this type of donation. The chairman can do what the fcuk he wants with my £250. In my head my payment has less to do with the number of games I get to and more to do with a commitment to NTFC. Would I double that amount and donate the price of a season ticket and £20 a month to the cause? Not at the moment no, but if there was a change of ownership and I was convinced enough that my money was going solely to develop the club and not lining the pockets of the owners, most certainly I would.

By the same token I find it puzzling that some people expect (want, desire) us to back something that doesn't have anything tangible to it. The utopia mentioned of being fan / community based, with a consortium of local business people who put the club 100% at the centre would be ideal. But until there is anything tangible its a pipedream.

I put my share of money into the club via season tickets, car park passes, cup tickets and merchandise sales.

You could do that too, if you weren't boycotting Sixfields.

Nobody is expecting anything at the moment, it is a bit chicken & egg isn't it. Melly is saying go get numbers and you are saying there is nothing tangible.

Its certainly a dream but a possible one, other clubs are do it, no reason why we can't

Wycombe did it and look where they are at the moment, yes they sold their controlling share (as did Swansea) but they moved the club forward, which is all I want.

We need to work together on that utopia. The land deal / WNC are key to that, as is KT / DB.  I believe they is a deal that can be done that would create that utopia, providing EVERYONE is willing to compromise a little.

Yeah and your money has been so well used by the owners - NOT. Remind me of our league and financial position when they took over.

Achieve a lot in 6 years and £30m haven't they

Perhaps more importantly, what would the next 6 years look like under KT?  Trips to Braintree looks far more likely than Sunderland, Oxford, MK, Luton, Wycombe or s***boro

But that is totally your choice and I am not saying you don't contribute, it just I and hopefully many others want to see some improvements. If that's to be done separately then so be it.

I think an Infrastructure Foundation is the way to start the ball rolling (towards the net I hope  Smiley).

Manwork, Singcobb, Hammy, Deepcut, Carton, Whitedogdo, Everbrite, Teachers pet, Coolcat, Steve Massey and all you others, in principle, would you contribute a small monthly amount to go towards an infrastructure project?

I imagine we can look forward to an update from the fans board representative regards the redevelopment in the next couple of weeks.
Itíll be good to have some informed opinion to debate.
