But its all irrelevant anyway until someone lays an egg.
Hopefully the judicial review will support the council and hopefully the Trust will update us all soon.
I am genuinely interesting to see what they have planned and how it can take the club forward. I agree with some posts from before that people such as myself have been asking them to do something if its so easy and it appears they have so have to give them opportunity to put forward their alternative. Its always easy to be picky but I would have liked them to have confirmed themselves they had submitted the bid and they would update us when possible, and not leaving it to a leak in the NN journal and a journalist following up.
But here we are, waiting with baited breath.

Agree that the Trust ought to be given the chance, but I would argue they're already pushing their luck. One of their key, consistent criticisms of the club has been a lack of transparency. The Trust are failing pretty spectacularly on that front now the chips are down...

Good points - my view has always been that if you donít like something do something about it rather than constantly complaining, which is why I have been critical of some spokesmen of the trust - the invoking of the ACV was at least some action so I supported it (even though the issue of relationship with the leaseholder made success unlikely). Equally if an alternative bid for the land transpires (and thatís a big if at this time), and itís fully planned to give viable benefits to the club over and above whatís on the table now then it gets my support- my only caveat here is if itís simply a blocking tactic or an anything but DB/KT ploy then it certainly doesnít get my support and IMO is very dangerous for the future of the club - however until we know the outcome of the JR and details of this supposed bid I think we should remain open minded.

One of the many things I don't understand about all this is are The Trust wanting to purchase the club as well as the land? If not then they aren't going to develop the East Stand for a club they don't own and that to me is the main thing to achieve at the moment. Fan parks and further stadium development should come after that. What will they do with the land that will benefit a club they do not own?

Ö..because itís sold subject to contract and there is no legal avenue at this time to reopen bidding

There is. SSTC is not a binding agreement. Until contracts are exchanged the council can take whichever route they choose. This being said, it would reflect very badly on our elected representatives if they decided on a 'U' turn without real good cause.

Feels like its the only way they think they can get their hands on the club.

I found this lovely poem that I think sums up how the fans are being treated by both the owners and the Trust. You can listen to an eloquent
recital of the poem at the link below. I hope you enjoy it.

Ever get the feeling you're always on a losing streak?
Their silence is deafening
From the havens of thieves and kings
Empower those who serve to deflect suspicious minds
Action and answers as likely as a reversal of time
Their silence is deafening
From the retreats of tamed apologists
Their disdain is crippling

Well, I watched the video and tried to understand the bellowed words. Do the words which were sang match the detailed lyrics? Would rather  sing/hear 'Pack up your Troubles........'

it needs to be made very clear how the Trust have raised funding .
How can anyone have faith that the backers do not want to profiteer any more than the club owners .
Some of the backing rumoured to be supporting the bid is extremely dubious to say the least .
If they are to truly act as a representation of supporters , their whole approach needs to change because it simply comes across as a secretive society masquerading as a supporter group .

In 2164 when the lease is up

Cilldara didn't think there would be a problem in breaking the leases and offered to take all that risk from the council, in their initial offer, did they not?

theoretically, the trust could have teamed up with Cilldara, re-submitted their bid to include the ACV land on the conditions that - Cilldara take all risk for breaking the leases and the trust gets the ACV footprint that was not included in the original Cilldra bid anyway.

No need for judicial review, Cilldara get what they want, the Trust gets the ACV land. I still can't see how the trust can buy the club and/or build the stand in this scenario though. Will have to wait and see what the actual proposal is I guess.

Well if anyone was ever in any doubt, certainly is clear the Cilldara spokemans previous quotes about buying the club and taking care of finishing the East Stand were complete bull.  They also have a habit of ommitting key facts such as the lease issues and conflating different moments in time to sound like they were consistently pursuing the land for 2 and 1/2 years.

As quoted in this article...

"We weren't overly keen on buying a football club"

and

"Jimmy (James Kelly, former Director of Cilldara) definitely didn't want to own a football club to start with"

Dread to think what would have happened to the club if these characters had got hold of it.  The dictionary definition of being all about the land.

And KT/DB run the club into the ground and wont sell unless the 6-7million debt is paid back, so The Trust will have their wish of starting a phoenix club.

Could you provide a link to those previous quotes Cilldara made about buying the club and taking care of the stand?
I like their honesty. I thought they were inferring that initially they weren't keen to buy a football club but would have done so to facilitate the land deal had the owners valuation of the club been realistic. Who's to say what they would have done with the club once they owned it....sold it to the Trust or consortium at a realistic price for it to then be run on a breakeven basis maybe. (How much did KT/DB originally pay for the club?).
Re the lease issues, I thought Cilldara had stressed the fact that they would indemnify the council on this matter, and it's the newspaper, not them, that has omitted that fact in this article?

Fair play if that's what you took from the article.  It's an "interesting take" shall we say???  Especially as you didn't seem to like my previous hypotheticals and yet have come up with some pretty big ones of your own here.

Re a link to the previous quotes, Google is your friend.  That's all I would be doing to find it again myself.

I would sooner them run the club into the ground than let the Trust get hold of it.

That will be why KT has started the remediation work now and got a specialist to advise.
