Genuine question, what are peoples thoughts on MKs stadium with its capacity of 30,000 and an average gate of 10,000. Does it detract from the atmosphere or make no difference? Cases like that are dependent on whether support is grouped together I would imagine.
It is an amazing stadium, at any level. One thing that they have down to a tee is the away support factor. For a club that is supposed to be despised, they have become a well known Mecca for large away followings. Even more so than a lot f local derbies. Once again, I refer our learned friends to our council, and their absolute involvement in any lack of ambition around the Sixfields area.

Amazing about turn! So it’s lack of Finance which does for us. …….
A lack of ambition and an unwillingness to spend what is required to make us a sustainable league one outfit. Genuine question Given the boards previous track record would you think we would do things differently if we were to get promoted again under the current owners or will we again sign free transfers , have an over reliance on loans and dismantle a promotion winning team replacing it with a worse one than the squad that got promoted? What are your views. Do you have any reason to think that signings will be made as statements of intent in order to put more bums on seats or just the normal lack of ambition and squad under investment?

Optimistic would be a bit of stretch but I am quite hopeful that Brady seems to have instigated a bit of structure within the club that might help avoid the problems we normally encounter after a promotion.
I don't expect signings that will be regarded as statements of intent but am hoping that the input of the strong backroom staff will help ensure the budget is spent wisely.

Agreed. The redevelopment has actually begun.

It does look good. I have only been there to watch the Saints one time when I came back from Oz for a brief visit. I assumed if everyone was spread out it would be crap. However if they closed off sections and concentrated the support it would be ok?

It does what it was intended to do, it states ambition. It makes absolute sense to create your ultimate aim first off if you can. Its 10k average and corporate gain would increase significantly with a cemented time in the Championship, they're prepared for this opportunity and ready to capitalise. Their average next season will be nearer 14k. Atmosphere is mainly relevant to the attendance, we always create an atmosphere there! If this were our stadium, our average attendance would be much greater too.

Yes its a good stadium. Padded seats? Unheard of. Just dont go down there via train. Bletchley WMC is your closest option. Dont waste your time.

Still have to be careful though. A few of these Premiership grounds are crap when a third full. If I was a player I would rather play at a packed to the rafters Sixseats than a quarter full amphitheater. I think it may be counterproductive to go too mad from the get go. I think the plastics may have fell into that trap. If money was no object I still wouldn’t go above 10 or 12k with an option to expand further when appropriate.

I agree regarding Stadium MK. It might be impressive but I wouldn't want it for a home ground, its a show pony, or show plastic cow! I don't think too many players would agree about Sixseats, however it would be about right for the club, supporters and the atmosphere if both ends were two tiered and with some prawn sandwich boxes somewhere in the east.

Show us the bit where someone said the stadium isn’t big enough to sell out. Random said it was lack of decent seats and I said if it was bigger we’d be able to squeeze a few more in.

the main reason we don't sell out when we are doing well is because of the lack of decent seats. A bigger capacity would give us more seats "in the middle"

Random's point is still valid. I agree that people are going to be put off going to a game if they are likely to get seats with a poor view, especially now if it's in the half built East Stand. Rather than petty point scoring off each other how about trying to persuade those that count that a bit of investment in the ground and on the pitch will produce good results in a county town starved of quality live football?

I'm not sure who you’ve encountered on here or anywhere else who wouldn’t agree with that sentiment. The acrimony doesn’t stem from some not wanting progress, that’s a given. It stems from varying opinions on how to achieve the desired outcome. How would you suggest we persuade those that count.. If you can give us an answer to that, you will doubtless achieve Kissinger status immediately.

My view is that it is better to ensure we have a competitive team capable of holding its own in League one and more. If there is sufficient funds available by all means finish the East Stand to cost effective standard capable of generating income. Any improvements should be done in a likewise manner ensuring they are capable of additional revenue. One step at a time. I don’t believe that a 12 to 15k capacity is essential now or in near future. Much will depend on progress on the pitch.

You’re just trying to twist his words. He said “The reason we don’t sell out is the lack of decent seats, then he said; “A bigger capacity would give us more seats in the middle”. He never said; “The reason we never sell out is because the ground isn’t big enough”. Are you a Chelsea fan as well.

Hello.
This is my first of probably many posts on THE. I’m quite active on social media regarding NTFC. I don’t feel we need added capacity, although, we must improve the fan experience. The last time I was at Sixfields was early 2019. I go to quite a few away games but avoid home games.
I have many friends who want to get into football, but I’m too embarrassed to take them to Sixfields. There seems to zero care on the upkeep, including the West Stand. The seats in the west are diabolical if I’m honest. When I last went, it was in the East Stand, and I just can’t believe the lack of urgency to at least tidy it up. In the ‘Chinese era’ they at least put banners along the east.
My point is, increased capacity would be nice, but the fan experience (or customer experience) needs urgent care, as it is directly costing the club money because I refuse to enter Sixfields, and I’m surly not the only person who feels this way?

You are certainly surly. It seems weird to me that you would only attend if you had a gucci seat. I would follow the Cobblers to a s***ehole in a desert town and often do. My bae often comes with me and the only regret is the result!

Well you’re clearly missing my point. It’s a decrepit ground which won’t have any appeal to any new supporter. There are clearly parts of the fan base who don’t give a rats arse about the stadium, which I fully respect, however, accepting Sixfields as it is, contributes towards why, as a club, we are piss poor on and off the pitch. I can just imagine Jon Brady trying to get a too signing to NTFC. Why on earth would they want to play their football here?
FYI, I’ve been reading this forum for years, and there are many reasons why people won’t go on here.
