The whole process of this project is now potentially delayed for another 4 1/2 months. Regardless of the Trust's statement saying this will not delay, that is not their decision to decide whether this action delays the relevant parties or not. The Club has clearly stated this will delay their process, and a delay can now be expected.

The Council do not have to sell to the Trust at the end of the process, and the end of the process means the ACV is gone forever.
Understand what you are saying CB, but if I told you the sky outside my house was pink with pigs flying in it this afternoon would you believe me?
It will delay the process because the club have chosen for it to.
Isn't that a completely different concept from the mechanics of the process of invoking the ACV itself causing the delay?
If I was a cynic I'd be saying the Trust just played straight into the hands of KT/DB.

No, but you owned a business, let's say.... my local Pub.... and you were looking to create an outdoor dining area and play area on some land outside the pub you were about to complete contracts on, and you told me that would not build that dining area if someone else bought the land where you planned to put the children's play area in the new garden, I'd probably believe you.

Yeah, I'd believe you too if you told me the same, but if you needed to put some stud walling up in the indoor dining area as part of a previous agreement with the brewery and were now using the land outside the boozer as an excuse not to, I'd be tempted to tell you, you were making excuses and taking the piss out of the brewery.
For brewery you might read council.

Actually enjoying this lol

However, we were warning this would cause a delay, and the delay has now happened. So guess we wait until September now.

So just like myself, you can't explain why this will now cause a six month delay.

Because the pub isnt viable with just the small indoor restaurant, they need the outdoor dining and kids play area to attract families in the summer to build the funds and support the running costs during the winter. So the internal stud wall on its own could actually put the pub in more trouble than it is now.

It's quite clear why, because the people with the money in this saga have decided that they do not want to pursue the deal while this ACV situation is live. They seem uninterested in development if the Trust end up as landlord of the land. That is the vibe I get. They will do the deal that both the Council and the Club have found acceptable, they will not do another deal that they think is unviable to them.

They get to decide what terms are acceptable for them to proceed, or not. Not the trust, not myself. It's their decision on how they wish to spend their money.

That is why they are not proceeding for now. They don't need to say anything more. So, this is the delay they warned about, just become some were in denial about it actually happening, does not make it any less real.

So now we wait and see. Until September. Enjoy the Summer.

If only KT and DB had completed the stand when they took over - how many years ago was that again?

If only the council hadn't messed up all the leases including multiple leases on the same plot of land.

I love this guy. Proper common sense from a (relatively) impartial observer.

If the kids area had a sandpit and a few kids built a small village of sand castles then the dog belonging to the landlord peed on it, the pub outside dining and barbecue area would be less easy to establish as an ongoing feature. Meanwhile the recently acquired field next to the pub garden would need to be ploughed to stop the local kids smoking crack cocaine there whilst planning permission for a brothel is ongoing.

Least the money to complete the stand has been ringfenced; no reason either why a more detailed plan of what we are likely to get cant be published in the meantime. Might wet the appetite.....

Agreed - and also handles the more unreasonable comments with respect and empathy - its clear when he disagrees but doesn't need to resort to insults so well played and you get my vote - only on this issue though  Wink

I think that there seems to be a huge benefit to everyone giving the club and the new council the space to do this deal, it removes all of these crazy contracts and leases etc from the land and gives clear responsibility moving forward. Other parties are now just adding complexity back into the whole thing, just like the old Councils sadly did.

The deal WAS moving forward, Contractors WERE starting to get involved again.
